Black Spirituality Religion : Whats the difference between the Orishas, Loa, Alusi, Neteru, etc

It's been my experience that these spirits are very much similiar but differ in their degree of intensity. Siete Rayos is much hotter than Shango and the same for Zarabanda when we compare him to Ogun. Here's a funny thing, I have a strong affinity to Eleggua, but in Haitian Vodou my affinity is closer to Kouzen Azaka.

Freda always chastises me when she comes down. My daughter has a strong Freda around her - she cries for everything, is prissy as can be, I call her my lil fashionista, loves pink, green and blue and has a sarcastic wit about her. I believe Freda "cursed" me with her to torment me. LOL...

When I was younger, I use to have these very erotic dreams and dealings with this light skinned almost white lookin' woman, and I found out it was a Pomba Gira. It seems she is similar to Erzulie. I can see how a lot of these spirits are similar but different in their own way...

Pomba Gira, from what I know about her, is not related to any of the common Ezili (Erzulies) like Dantor or Freda. Dantor will cut your heart out if you approach her wrong and she is not sexual in that aspect. Freda is more concerned about "nice things" than erotic affairs. Also, neither of these Ezilis get along. You would never place Dantor next to Freda and when they call them down, they are called down separately because they would fight each other. So it's safe to say that Freda and Dantor may be sisters, but they are not on friendly terms. If a person marries Freda, he must also marry Dantor and vice versa because the one is jealous of the other.

Here are some of the commonly made correspondences between the Orisa and the Nkisi.

Lucero/Nkuyu - Eshu/Eleggua - Legba
Siete Rayos - Shango - Ogou St. Jacques
Zarabanda - Ogun - Ogou Feraille
Mama Chola - Oshun - Freda
Mama Kalunga - Yemaya - Lasiren
Centella Ndoki - Oya - Dantor

There are other correspondences, but it is not advised to confused them because, trust me, they are still separate.
