a somber moment
A Somber Moment
The sky thus filled with tales of gloom Fabled myths both night and noon And, though, there spent a misty swirl My mind did rest atop my world And in that somber moment’s mood I sat I thought I dreamt of you The day was draped in “dark and dreary” A winter’s gray at midday’s weary And in that somber, meandering moment I gathered my thoughts that some might merge with The innocent spirit of one so near Connected, deeply, to one held dear The tides were lapping down below Thundering waves rushed to and fro But in that moment’s graceful pull A peaceful quiet…a tide-less lull I sat upon that restful stage Internal wars, my soul did wage That when my battles come to cease Serenity rules my world of peace That all might see a Shepard’s hold Allow my peaceful world’s unfold I stand before thee…reckless bent Not dignified…but drama spent Deprived of all I’ve ever craved Save for breath…and, so for, days Eternity, it seems, did I await For midnight screams to fade away Coz through those tears a part of me Gave birth to death that life might be |

Quote:
Yes, "somber" it is!....rather melancholy. And the echo of Edgar Allan Poe was so intricately and skillfully woven into this creative, Gothic MASTERPIECE! But, you definitely made it your own. Your skill is such, I do believe you can write anything, in any genre or motif and it will be fantastically penned! |

Somber written soul-beautifully...
I tend to not enjoy somber poetry, but this piece penetrate soul-deep it takes you there.
It reads like a dark struggling journey that ends in brightness… the storm that finally passes. This is a piece that the mind thoroughly digests. I read it many times and each time its even better. I truly love this! I dream to become a masterful poet like you someday ![]() feelin'itsouldeepNthensome! Coco

THANK YOU ALL
for receiving this so well. i'm trying to recapture a style of writing i once loved...but haven't done in some time. i wasn't sure how it would go over on this site. but, knowing the playground crew, i should have known that we dabble in so much of this art of word play, that it wouldn't have been a problem. AGAIN, i thank you ALL...for your wonderful responses.

Eternity, it seems, did I await
For midnight screams to fade away Coz through those tears a part of me Gave birth to death that life might be I can read so many perceptions in this piece, especially in this last verse... I'll keep it to myself, tho. This is wonderfully done, Baller, you recapture quite nicely. epiphany ![]() __________________ There are pearls in the pain of every experience. ![]() Trevicia Williams |
