Progress Report

The Origin of Racism Group held it’s 9th meeting, December 11th, 2008. The Group Think (GT) meeting was promptly called at 10:00 AM Eastern and concluded at 10:45 AM Eastern. For a period of 15 minutes, a question and answer was conducted. The absence of any such questions or statements from Family members also in attendance is a strong indication that the process is clear in its progress and backed soundly by others.

In attendance and on the mic for GT were brown_hOrnet, and Clyde C. Coger, Jr., and telephonically, A007. In the absence of a qualified quorum, the members in attendance agreed to suspend further issues so as not to inundate the catch up process for the third participant.

Information concerning the launch of the Destee.comNewsletter was key and central, to include receipt of all promised input. brown_hOrnet explained efforts taken in the solicitation of the third member, and the agreed upon desire to balance GT with Female participation. New member, Jahari Kavi posted well-received comments to the below issues.

Outstanding Issues awaiting Consensus

Clarity of Purpose
In House name and/or publication title
Question: What is the Origin of Racism (continued discussion)
Issues that Divide us (Obama, Meat eaters vs. Vegetarians, Religion, etc.)

(The following GT members, A007 and Keita are expected to provide input to the above outstanding issues, before our next meeting on December 18th, 2008 @ 10:00AM Central. If done properly by posted replies to this thread, we should be able to reach consensus, if not, these items will be the subject of that meeting, provided there is quorum in attendance).

Jahari, I responded to you almost immediately after you posted to the friends and lovers thread. I don't think you had a chance to go back over to that thread. Any way, just letting you know that I did respond to you. Enjoy your weekend....

Thanks for your comments in the Brotha Clyde thread. Your point is well taken, but I don't think you fully understand the purpose of the Obama issue. In order for us to make progress in Group Think, which is the project we have organized out of thread: What is the Origin of Racism; we decided on elminating those three issues from our discussions we currently have each Thursday in Voice Chat.

But Jahari, again, thanks for stopping by and paying us some attention. In fact, the next time you visit the thread(Brotha Clyde) take a closer look and you will see what I'm talking about.......Peace........Clyde

yea, I like watching that show. It is a trip. I commend your ex-brotha in laws stance, but I think I would have a hard time showing respect to some criminals who do unthinkable acts....child molestors, rapists, serial killers, smh.

I think the worse episode I saw of Lockdown (up?, whateva) was this one inmate who had, aids I think....He proceeds to piss in a bucket, and then crush up a lightbulb in his urine, THEN.....you are not gonne believe this...he throws it one of the officers....do you see where I am going with this? The lightbulb glass cuts up the officer, the piss is exposed to his cuts of blood, and he catches whatever disease that inmate had!! WHO has time to think of this?? Obviously, an inmate.

That was the most crunked up mess, I had ever seen. Needless to say, the officer dd not return to work for a very long time...

Yea, now that would be very interesting work...Have you ever watched Lockup ( or is it Lockdown?) on, I think MSNBC? Wheew! I see those inmates get counseled sometimes..very interesting work.

Psychology is such a fascinating subject...Between the counseling or clinical....I guess it depends on if you whether want to work with the crazy or the ReALLY crazy, LOL. What do you think you may want to specialize in? I enjoyed learning about Freuds psychanyaltic perspectives, as well as some of Carl Rogers humanistic theories..I never really cared much for the starightforward behaviorism approaches of Skinner and others...

yea, I most definitly agree with you on the Maslow. I agree with the order that he presumes things, but of course the Lord changes all of that. You are so right. Hey, I wonder if there is a a religious hierarchy of needs somewhere, created by someone...I may have to look into that. What am I majoring in? Well thats still to be decided. I am torn by doing what I want, and what I need to be able to survive in todays economy...ya know with so many jobs being outsourced, and lay offs picking up, and new technology replacing old jobs...I want to make sure I go into a field that their is going to be job stability.

So thats where I am at with that. What I love is writing, and I would love to get into news broadcasting...and yet this presidential campaign has got me rolling the idea of politics around in my head...what ever I do, I know that writing will be involved. I am more of a social science type of person...you know the english, histories, psychologies, etc...I am no good at math and science unfortunatley....I am taking geology right now, cuz I was told it was the easiest science...somebody lied. I never knew it was SO much to know about rocks! Man, LO.,What about you? What do you are majoring in friend?
