Tis the Season

This is the time of year when everyone is running around like a chicken with their head cut off (as my grandma use to say) spending money and buying stuff that the receiver probably won't even look at after the first few hours. That's the part that I don't like about this time of year.

What I LOVE is the spirit of giving. I love how we take extra care to think about others and check on those less fortunate. This should be our spirit everyday, all year long. And for many of us I would venture to say that we are constantly caring for someone other than ourselves...even if it is just our immediate family and friends.

Just a couple days ago I was driving to work and it was freeeeezing cold outside. I passed by a lady franticly waving down cars on the side of the highway. Apparently, her car had broken down and I'm assuming she had no cell phone either or else she wouldn't have been waving down the passerbys. Unfortunately, I was in the passing lane and...
