Yes Poetry.Com is a scam
I wish I would buy a ticket to florida to get an award that I won
If I won why not fly me out there

Well, I entered one of my stories into a competition one time but it was Writer's Digest, so I think it was legit.

Still, if authors want their work published they certainly can't go wrong with the self-publishing route. Competitions can't accurately weigh who truly has talent and who doesn't anyway.
