Some call it inspiration
Others call it muse
I call it the heartbeats of life
The result of paying emotional dues

It's every woman I ever met
And more that a few I'll never forget
It's the very first time I was weak in the knees
It's when I understood that pleasing is to be pleased

It's the old brother who told me never say what you can do
It's the sister back in the day who taught me what she knew
It's everyone who took a piece of me
Everyone I took something from
It's all I've lost, it's all I've won

It's two young lovers holding hands
It's the angry young man no one understands
Life is so full of mysterious things
I love to express the different feelings it brings

And so lucky am I to have a place to go
To see how other folks express their flow
I go where people flow from their own inspiration
Ink on paper the final destination.
