haunting me
It appears when I am unconscious
Does it know with my eyes closed
I am defenseless?
Whatever lies between fear and fearless
is where I'm sleeping

My cries for help are muted
I struggle for consciousness
Eyes are finally open
No longer asleep between the contradiction
I am awake and afraid

It speaks to me without words
and I understand
This imperceptible
All-knowing energy is
