a million words & 10 thousand
verses later & I still fail
to capture the beauty you are...

tonight, it's windy in my desert
but I'm not cold ~ you looked
toward the setting sun and blessed
me with the embers in your eyes
your heat ever lingers in all my
members...

tonight, my lips were dry from
lack of uttering your name out loud
but I no longer thirst because
you gave me drink from the
fountain of your pen...and your
name burst forth from the deep
inside of me...

the fire is hot and the flames
dance our dance, filling me
with our moments ~

there is a blanket of stars over
our heads and I can't help but
smile ...

for when the sun rises in our
eternal morning ~ you'll reach for me
as I reach for you ~ and we'll
kiss the face of time...

Ms. Alyce, I wanna be just like you when I grow up. This is a beautiful piece. My favourite verse is:

"for when the sun rises in our
eternal morning ~ you'll reach for me
as I reach for you ~ and we'll
kiss the face of time..."

Bravo sis!!!!!!

a feeling of hidden messages in the scribes of fine poets...always something buried deep within the lines only for only one pair of eyes to see. At least that's what I imagine about fine poetry. I know the poet writes from a place within, and the poem is the visual utterances from their soul. And we who read take it, and internalize it where we sit...using it for our nourishment where we are deficient. But I truly believe the poem is another way the poet seeks to convey a message. Hidden in the lines of their scribes.

That's just my romantic interpretation of why some flow is so amazingly poignant. Like love letters. :)

Love this
