View Full Version : Poetry : On The Nature of Thangs...

nature has her ways...

and high atop the mountain
nestled betwixt indigenous trees
the snow melts slowly down gentle slopes
turned brown by winter

standing on my porch, i watch
through magnified glasses
loving birds fly down to
the feeding post, dipping
their beaks ~ and fly away
high into lush evergreens
where their hungry babies wait...

i see a squirrel race across
an open patch of grass, and up onto
the bark of a tall pine ~
he disappears before my eyes

i hear music all around me
filling my space ~
the sounds that only nature
makes...

high atop the mountain, nestled
betwixt indigenous trees,
i wonder if the snow could
ever rival this meltdown
inside of me...

...Mother Nature surely has her ways...

"where DOES she get these words?"
and then I realize I already know the answer.

Your nature is a blessed thing, Ms. A.

ah alyce
you can write
your imagery
your way with words
you can write.
i am so glad my spirit tells me
to go back 22 or 23 pages
and discover
other voices
your voice
thank you
