How To Self-Publish That
Great Novel Without Going Nuts!
A Monthly Column for Aspiring Writers

Support Others
by Delores Thornton

Whew! You have made it through murky waters, and made it ashore. But what now? Do you brag and boast? Do you burn down the bridge? Or do you help someone else navigate their future?

Probably one of the most rewarding things that you'll ever do is to help another avoid your mistakes. You might not write a column, but you can respond to requests you receive via email. You can also post information on various message boards.

There are several online resources for literary entrepreneurs and new
organizations are forming! One such group is African American Authors Helping Authors or AA-AHA.

The Mission Statement:

We will strive to help new authors, support established authors, and pave the way for aspiring authors. This will be done via proven marketing techniques such as advertising, promotion, book tours and book fairs. There will also be piggyback advertising, an Author's Catalog, a website, newsletter, and an annual Self-Published Book Awards Program.

The organization, governed by a Steering Committee, along with the various other committee, will be active in radio, television and all forms of print media. There will also be chats and discussions with online groups.

In the not too distant future the organization will be accepting new members. And will eventually include all authors of African descent! Contact <info@aa-aha.com>.

Please stay tuned for further details of this new and exciting approach to marketing! It is sure to benefit the literary community.

April is National Poetry Month. Remember this in any interviews and/or articles. And the Postal Service is considering adding a poet on a stamp. Please contact your local branch for more information.

May is Mental Health Month, so think about articles and columns to
incorporate ideas that will address concerns in this area.

Well, that's it, next time we'll look at some of the best websites to
advertise on and why.

I spoke to :

To discuss how to successfully publish your black and white paperback, or color book, call me at 888.519.5121, extension 5374 or email me at dgeorge@authorhouse.com.

Sincerely,

I have contacted several illustrators. I want to work with. There is a promotional this month @ authorhouse I am going to take advantage of.
AuthorHouse is a self publishing company. They walk you thru every aspect of book writing and publishing.

Unlike some book publishing companies, AuthorHouse authors retain all rights and control decisions around the publishing and marketing of their book. You determine how many and when copies of your published book are printed and you select your own royalty schedule. When your book is finished, it's available for order at more than 25,000 retail outlets worldwide, on the Internet at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and through the AuthorHouse online book store.

The Authorhouse process is ( POD ) print on demand. One or a million copies.
So you don't carry inventory. Purchases of your book to customers take 7 to 10 business days.

I have been wanting to do a book for some time. :jumping: I have sevaral idea's, the creative juices are churning like never before. Look for updates.

The price comes to $923.00. To get a book published in b/w paperback.
:hot: This months special allows me to go color for the same price.

If you would like to know more. Feel free to ask me. I have read all of the legals involved.

Good luck everyone. Go after your dream!
