Also, how big your is sound file (about how many seconds long is it)? We're right here forya Sis ... don't  :) $$RICH$$ 02-11-2002, 10:50 AM try to keep it small and surely we will walk u through we must walk before we run ....try it again but a bit shorter wit a few words surely it should work cocobutterskyn 02-11-2002, 10:56 AM Crossing my fingers Bishop 02-11-2002, 11:00 AM She says her sound file is about 22 seconds...I've asked her to try to cut it down to 10 or 15, and we'll see if that might work. Destee 02-11-2002, 11:14 AM Okay Coco and Bishop ... but 22 seconds shouldn't be a problem ... I'm wondering if you are attaching it properly? Are you doing the following: 1. Clicking on the POST REPLY button ... 2. Typing something in the text box as usual ... 3. Going down to the ATTACH FILE area ... 4. Clicking on the BROWSE button ... 5. Navigating to the area on your hard drive where the sound file is located ... 6. Double-clicking on that file name ... or single click and then choosing OPEN FILE or ATTACH ... (not sure exactly what it says) ... 7. You will then be returned to the POST REPLY page ... and you should see the file path of your sound file in the text box located new the ATTACH FILE and BROWSE area ... 8. Then click on SUBMIT ... it should take a bit longer for your post to display because it is also uploading the file ... 9. Do make sure the file path is in that area mentioned in #7 above ... because your reply is being posted but no file is attached with it ... Standing by to hear our Sis! :) Bishop 02-11-2002, 11:18 AM Coco...make sure there is a .wav extension on the file. the browser will only accept certain types of file. Destee 02-11-2002, 11:18 AM One more note Bishop ... if the file were too large, it wouldn't post any of her reply ... her "crossing my fingers" text would not appear. She'd receive a database error with the entire action aborted. cocobutterskyn 02-11-2002, 11:40 AM Destee, that database error happened twice since I created a shorter soundwav. Why is that? CCBSKYN cocobutterskyn 02-11-2002, 11:43 AM  This isn't fun for me anymore. Am I adopted?:bawling: Destee 02-11-2002, 11:45 AM Coco ... if the default file size that the database is set to accept is exceeded ... you'll get that error message and none of your post will be added to the forum ... the file or the text. Since it seems that your text is being added, but not the file ... I don't think it's the size of the file that is our problem. (But since you're getting the database error it may be. I'm just not sure since I can't duplicate the problem and don't know what exactly you're doing.) Whatever the problem is though, we should be able to get beyond it with a little patience ... this has got to work for you since it's working for others ... we aren't giving up! Destee Destee 02-11-2002, 11:47 AM LOL @ Coco being adopted  Gurrrrrrllll now you know you aint adopted ... you got Daddy's eyes and Momma's hair and Grandmomma's big ol' legzzz ... so quit dat talk!!!! cocobutterskyn 02-11-2002, 11:52 AM I would like to thank you both for your help. :) Madd Sistahly Love CCBSKYN  cocobutterskyn 02-11-2002, 11:56 AM Thank you. I'm feeling much better now. :D N2urSoul 02-11-2002, 07:18 PM Coco N2urSoul 02-11-2002, 07:26 PM Coco It sounds like you're having some of the same problems I was having until Rykah helped me outta my bind.... Try this... In the "Sound Recorder" you should see the options on top listed as: File ... Edit ... Effects ... Help ... do you see that?? If so, click the "FILE" button & go to "Properties"... once you've clicked on the properties we need to find out what the Audio Format is... meaning How many PCM's/Hz's are listed on that particular wave file.... Mine was way too high, and I had to "CONVERT" the format to Radio Quality instead of CD Quality and shrink the size so that it would read PCM 22 050 Hz, 8 bit Mono I know this sounds crazy, but trust me if it weren't for Sherykah pointin' stuff out, I wouldn't know this off da top either...... one thing that really made the difference was the fact that I needed the file to indicate Radio Quality instead of the CD Quality or Telephone Quality (which are also the system's other options.... Let me know if you can check into this and see if this is your problem when you are trying to upload onto a new thread... Destee 02-11-2002, 08:55 PM Coco ... the above sounds like good advice. I wouldn't have known to tell you all of that! Thanks N2 for taking the time to type that out. I'm sure it will be helpful to others as well! We may need to start a "Help" thread with all these great tips. We're going to help you figure this out Coco 'cause we wantcha and needja! |
