$$RICH$$, PLEASE read something by Na'im Akbar or Anthony Browder! Although I do refer back on occasion to Dr. Cress Welsing's "Ysis Papers" when the need arises. It's like a handbook on life to be kept in every Black home, in my opinion.

Oh, and "A People's History of the United States" is a very thick text, but even if you just read a few excerpts from it, you cannot go wrong.

Great ones, Alyce, I agree with ya on "Soul On Ice" (have yet to read it in its entirety, but it is actually one of the books I have facing forward on my book shelf. Also, Richard Wright and Tony Brown. I'm feeling these suggestions.

"They Came Before Columbus" by Ivan van Certima

I will be checking "They Came Before Columbus"... my children and I were just discussing this.

Keep this section open... information is our wealth!

This book has me so absorbed, it is ridiculous!!!

It is not only hitting me with heavy points one paragraph after another, but the points are composed in such a...

such a...

such a ~poetic~ form, that I am just overtaken by the beauty of the language DuBois uses. I'm gonna have to share some of the lines when I have the book in here near the 'puter. This book is poetry, philosophy, sociology and black liberation all rolled into one! A masterpiece!

Dr. Akbar will be present yet again at the National Conference on the Black Family, which will convene on March 14th and run through the 17th in Louisville, KY at the Galt House Hotel.

Who won't be all up in the front row? I'm THERE!

Dr. Kunjufu will be there as well.

Needless to say, the "Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey" is a winner.
