while i agree with your attempt to educate wish i appreciate ALWAYS

this material however falls short and is based on "Psychology"

which is not a "science" IMO, but based on relativity, relative to a predictable

environment and predictable outcomes (i could expand in Bro/Sis Chat tonite @8pm EST if you care to attend thanx)

i'm not to crazy about the negative connotation of the title of the test either

One universal feature of a culture or subculture is language. To provide an example of how important language is to culture, the so-called "test" below is a play on how IQ test are said to be culturally biased. The test below is an opportunity to test your "cultural background."

so based on that relevance this test was relevant in the 1970's and was

probably great, this is 2009 this test is irrelevant IMO

and offers NO mental expansion WHATSOEVER

and any Ph.d just means they are a MORE programmed element of this

eurotrix (european matrix) and have been taught "under" that system

To provide an example of how important language is to culture, the so-called "test" below is a play on how IQ test are said to be culturally biased.

i don't think these test are still around i haven't heard about an IQ test

since i was a kid, and is this test is to show IQ tests are culturally biased

well didn't we "discover" that in the.................................1970's & 80's?

i notice (not a comment to you CB) that everything in the eurotrix

is backwards as this test to measure your culture "background"

only to measure how much more programming that needs to be done

anyway i think we should be more concerned with our

CULTURAL "FOREGROUND"

side note: i haven't heard the word "shucking" since a kid too lol

until recently right here on Destee.Com

THE REAL INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY

thank you

i see this "test" and i realize, yes we've come a long way, baby

B. I. T. C. H. Black Intelligence Test of Cultural Homogeneity

Great attention line.. Drew me in.
The word.. should be opened as a discussion.
Clean, No Twisting Finger discussion topic.

Encompassing Respectful, Open Minded Dialog.
An attempt at Solution Based Dialog.

Calling a woman the word is disrespectful.

Limited Dialog or Vocabulary is an issue in many instances.

Then woman call each other this too.

The word can hurt! The word does hurt!

I don't personally use it.

The first definition. A female dog.
The second definition reads what it would take to be really considered ONE!

Guys talk about Things. Some times Crazy things...Non-Sense things... Silly things... Cool things...Diverse and Productive Things.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/*****
"a term for the female of a canine species in general, is frequently used as a term for a malicious, spiteful, domineering, intrusive, or unpleasant person, especially a woman. This second meaning has been in use since around 1400.[1]

When used to describe a male, it may also confer the meaning of "subordinate", especially to another male, as in prison. Generally, this term is used to indicate that the person is acting outside the confines of their gender roles, such as when women are assertive or aggressive, or when men are passive or servile. More recent variants of ***** are bitchy, ill-tempered (1925), and to *****, to complain (1930).[1]"

So'ja, I'm really not understanding your reaction to this thread. I put this topic in the “CULTURE” forum because LANGUAGE is a part of our “culture.”

Aren't you the same person who chided me and Rich for applying “eurocentric” language to define “overstanding?” However, in this thread, you say that this test is “IRRELEVANT?” Why? Just because it applies to another era? How can you defend African-American dialect in one breath and discount it in another?

And do you think ANYONE with a Ph.d is just programmed by “eurocentric” thinking? What about Dr. Yosef Ben Jochannan? Is he, too, “programmed in the european matrix?” Do you have a problem with ALL college-educated people or only people in the field of psychology?

And, I'm going to assume that you did not read the short bio I gave for Dr. Williams. Because, yes, “WE” did discover that IQ tests were CULTURALLY biased in the 70s.”

Robert L. Williams IS THE BLACK MAN WHO SPOKE OUT ON IT and this test is what he developed to show that.

Now, yes, the “title” of it is the acronym of an offensive word; but, surely, “we” should be able to get pass that and see the test for what it was designed for. Besides, I've seen threads talking about “good coochie” and “dome” on this very site. So, I don't see THIS thread being offensive just because of its title.

no prob CB you know this is just my opinion, i felt this test was done
in the 1970's and i thought the language of it wasn't relevant in real time
but if people are out there still talking like this then my bad, i thought
in 2009 we've moved past this point, but my bad it's that's not the case

Aren't you the same person who chided me and Rich for applying “eurocentric” language to define “overstanding?” However, in this thread, you say that this test is “IRRELEVANT?” Why? Just because it applies to another era? How can you defend African-American dialect in one breath and discount it in another?

i really said "WORDS" don't do much to explain overstanding much less english
how am i discounting AA dialect here as you say, just by me saying it is
irrelevant. i said the relevance of this material in real-time did not in anyway
enhance anyone

And do you think ANYONE with a Ph.d is just programmed by “eurocentric” thinking? What about Dr. Yosef Ben Jochannan? Is he, too, “programmed in the european matrix?” Do you have a problem with ALL college-educated people or only people in the field of psychology?

i don't have a problem with anybody. Dr. Yosef Ben Jochannan? He was educated in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Spain so with that CUBA in there
he's good in my book

And, I'm going to assume that you did not read the short bio I gave for Dr. Williams. Because, yes, “WE” did discover that IQ tests were CULTURALLY biased in the 70s.”

right in the 1970's, so in case you were wondering :?: i said irrelevant
we found this out already lol

Robert L. Williams IS THE BLACK MAN WHO SPOKE OUT ON IT and this test is what he developed to show that.

i'm not mad at the brother he did a great job, if you wanted to show that
then what was the glaring title about?

Now, yes, the “title” of it is the acronym of an offensive word; but, surely, “we” should be able to get pass that and see the test for what it was designed for. Besides, I've seen threads talking about “good coochie” and “dome” on this very site. So, I don't see THIS thread being offensive just because of its title.

we see that test is speaks for itself the acronym well i can't see the relevance as for as where it ties in besides just making some words out of it
Black Intelligence Test of Cultural Homogeneity

also i'm trying to figure what a subject of a thread (“good coochie” and “dome” ) has to do with a title being offensive?

we have all sorts of people on this site and kids too

i thought maybe it would be out of respect

and i'm definitely not being funny here because i ask myself although
i don't follow "jesus" i still say to myself

what would "jesus" have named the thread?

:?:

So'ja, I know that the test and the language in it is dated. But, this is "relevant" to today because it shows how language is a part of our culture.

I remember you saying to me, "Don't be so literal."

So, what does it matter that it's 30+ years old? It was a "test" used in the 70s. And, yes, the "dialect" used in it is old; but our dialect is an ever-evolving part of our culture. Can't you make the "LEAP" from this slang from then to the slang used today and how that might relate to our youth now?

And, please, So'ja, what does me being a Christian have to do with the title? Yes, the acronym for the test is an offensive word.

So, what. I used the actual title? Again, can't you get pass the word in the title to the "meat" of what Dr. Williams was trying to show? And, actually, I thought the word would automatically be scripted out, anyway.

However, again, I posted this in the "Culture" forum to show this example of how this test relates to our culture, then and now, because our dialect is an integral part of our culture. From the time that we were put on slave ships, we had to develop a means to communicate with each other using parts of each language we knew and those we heard from the slavers: English, Portuguese, French, Spanish, etc..and much of our dialect today is derived from those pidgins and creoles that our ancestors used.

But, if you can't see anything here but an offensive word title or just some old slang, well, then, you just can't.

i was being literal because of the literal nature of the work (remember deflector lol)

i said say it top of my OP that i like that fact of your intent, i just give my opinion
