Thanks for having me on your program. I enjoyed the exchange of views and hope that someone from your audience got something out of the exchange that they can use toward the production of justice.
truetothecause 09-08-2008, 07:11 PM Thanks for having me on your program. I enjoyed the exchange of views and hope that someone from your audience got something out of the exchange that they can use toward the production of justice.
Thank You for Being there!
I trust that many DID get somethings to support them in producing justice in their work places and this was evidenced by the statements in support of that. For example...."Thank you Brother Edward, this is really helpful." That was from one of the callers who spoke with you. In addition, many expressed interest in the book you have coming out soon. That to me, is a clear indication that your presence and knowledge was helpful. I think the production of justice part speaks to people's ability to implement some of the things you suggested.
I too enjoyed speaking directly with you and learning more of what some of the barriers are related to effectively addressing acts of racism in the workplace. I was also afforded the opportunity to hear of the experiences others are having as they think about this thing called Racism/White Supremacy.
Because "Racism" has no legal definition, and therefore no standing in a court of law, many sense they have no true recourse in addressing it. We are all so programed to "use the law" to address injustice, and, as I recall you saying during the first show, there is no legal definition of the term "justice."
During this second show, it was helpful (at least for me) to recognize that any justice that takes place will happen based on what I put into it. IF I am not able or willing to utilize the tools given in the workplace to protect my person from harm, THEN, I am not likely to experience justice in the workplace.
I'd like to think it is ok with you Brother Edward, that I say to the Destee family, that this thread is OPEN to people's questions and/or challenges with Racism/white supremacy in the work place. If you have questions, concerns or like to present scenario's of what your dealing with and you would like feedback and/or support towards greater effectiveness in a potential Racist work environment, then, please feel free to post up.
Thank you again Brother Edward for sharing your time, knowledge and that BlacKniFicient Deep Base Voice!
M.E.
