I understand what you intend to mean when speaking of the square and the circle but let me see if i can shed light on a few points. The square in actuality represents the earlier degrees of Masonry however as people move up and attain higher degrees the square is left behind and the circle is their new symbol which is the purpose of the all seeing eye (circle) at the top of the pyramid. The square is what attaches the Mason to the physical/material world and the circle represent enlightenment of the spiritual world. Also, lets not forget that the square is also a circle. A square consists of 4 90degree angles so.... 90+90=180 90+90=180 180+180= 360degrees which is the degree for a circle! Hope I shedded some light on the topic!

It all depends on how you perceive a lodge to be. Are you looking at it from Western European lenses or on the actually essence of what it is? Throughout Africa, there exists guilds, similiar to European Freemasonry. These guilds were organized based on one's occupation. Depending on your lineage's occupation or your chosen profession, you could be inducted in a certain guild where the "mysteries" of that occupation would be revealed to you.

A case in point, the blacksmith held a prominent position in many African societies. He had the knowledge to change a metal into another metal and then use that product to build or destroy. In the Yoruba society, the patron of blacksmiths was Ogun, the original blacksmith or the originating energy (principle) of building and destroying in the universe. So blacksmiths and those with an affinity to blacksmithing (usually blood lineage) would be inducted in the Egbe Ogun where they would bring down the energy of Ogun unto their head to assist in their professions and advance them in their growth as beings.

Mande blacksmiths are called Nyamakalaw, which includes other professions. Nyama is the Mande term for the animating force permeating the universe, such as ase for the Yoruba and chi for the Igbo peoples. In the blacksmithing guild, the initiates are taught "daliluw", Mande term that "the secret knowledge about the use and nature of nyama."

Also, as a note, if we can please refrain from calling African people "tribes". They were not and have never been tribes. Europeans coined that term to make it appear that African peoples' social organization was less than theirs. African ethnic grouping and population settlement has always been organic and a phenomenon in flux. A group called Peul or Fulbe (Pulaar) is one example. They constitute a cattle-raising population that live by a set of rules called pulaaku. So for instance, a person born Bamana, but that adopts a more nomadic lifestyle and pulaaku would be a Pulaar and would be referred to as yimɓe pulaaku.

The Ogboni Society is much more than a council of elders. They were adepts of the "mysteries" elevated to esteemed eldership status for their wisdom and devotion. They are inducted or initiated into the Ogboni and receive more specialized training. Many Yoruba men aspire to be inducted into their local Egbe Ogboni as the culmination of their training.

I know that the lower masonic lodges information is all over the place!! You can a lot of the information they have without joining as this is the information age. Not so for the Afrikan occult societies as I hear. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This true. In Afrikan occult societies, we take an oath in front of the spirits of that house, on pain of death and spiritual dissolution, to never reveal the teachings taught to us. Online you can find basic information which is harmless to outsiders, but never the "real deal" stuff. Afrikan occult societies are very different in every way from European occult ones.

You can find individuals who are members of certain societies, but never get initiated in the States. Palo you can initiate here, but the others I would say "no." Many of the uncommon societies, you can only initiate in Africa because the members are so secretive and the societies are underground even in their own countries.
