View Full Version : Black People : Death Timer - When Will You Die
Destee 03-20-2008, 12:51 PM Peace and Blessings Family,
I stumbled upon this site, looking for a timer ... it supposedly calculates the day of your death! :eeek:
I DID NOT DO IT !!!
It gives me the heebie jeebies ... as i am so not interested in someone planting a date ... a seed ... such as this ... in my mind.
I talked about this site last night in the chat room, and some mentioned that they'd be willing to go through the process, to get the date these folk issue out. They said they don't take it seriously and stuff ... don't get the heebie jeebies like i do ... :)
So ... i'm just sharing, admitting that i've not done this and won't ... but if some are interested ... help yourself.

Edward Williams 04-04-2008, 12:21 PM I tried it. I changed my height and tried it again. Apparently if I was shorter I would die sooner. What the hell kinda logic is that?

Me neither.....if we were supposed to know, then God would have given us the knowledge.
These type of sites, "how healthy are you" / "when will U die"....it's all like a gimmik to mess with people's heads, especially those who are dependent on technology and believe that technology holds the key to everything.
technology is useful in some places, but it doesn't hold more wisdom than the most high.
alot of people are impressionable in these 'modern times'. anything that pops out of a computer is true and 100%reliable.
**yawns**
a computer didn't create me, and so it cannot tell me when my time is up.
Peace..

Probably has something to do with the song "Short People Got No Reason To Live".

Metaverse 04-05-2008, 08:21 PM Mother Destee,
there is a great deal of this type of "advertising" taking place online recently. I've been meaning to capture some of them so we can discuss them and the reasons for their creations. I pay attention to the banner ads on myspace as well as blackplanet, the banner for the deathtimer is on many social networking websites. Basically these ads are trying to promote depression, especially now after recent studies that show depressed people spend more money, we are obviously in a recession so we will see more and more of these ideas popping up.
Depressed people eat more food, take more drugs, buy more clothes, spend more money unwisely, the more depressed you are it seems the better for the American economy. The more insecure you are, either about your weight, height, complexion, anything that affects your self esteem affects what you will do to repair that self esteem, which is usually to spend money.
While there is evidence that some people have died on a mathematically perfect date, or even by using numerology some of those who have gone before us have died on well calculated dates- overall, the truth still is- death is decided by our will to live and the contract we have with our Creator and Humanity.

I got about a year left unless I lose some weight and quit smoking ( ive lost 40 lbs since moving to texas, but started smoking again). I'm not really that concerned since I never expected to last this long anyway and with the way things are going for me economically I dont want to be here to live through another republican administration in the first place.

Brother MetaSaience ... you never fail to take the discussion to a higher level. I am so honored to have you with us.
I don't frequent MySpace or BlackPlanet, so i wasn't aware of the advertising. It's kinda eerie even, that this death site would be advertised at such popular places, and i just happen to stumble upon it, and post about it. Hmmmm ... it seems we needed to know what you are sharing.
Brother OldSoul has often talked about advertising, how it is used to condition us, which is why i fought so long not to have it here. Our minds need a place ... many places ... where we are free from such assaults.
Depression ... oh my gosh ... Brother MetaSaience, could it be that we (Black People) are all depressed to some degree, just some more than others? How could we not be? I think this would be a great discussion for you to share with us! ... oh my gosh ... i have spent way too much of my life in the deeper depressed areas, and it would be good to understand it better, talk about it, see how it's used against us (as you've demonstrated already), allowing us to grow beyond it, if possible.
You say that some have died on mathematically perfect dates. Can you share a few names with us? As i thought on this, Our Beloved Ancestor Martin Luther King, Jr., came to mind. His last speech, he talked about long life may not be his, as though he knew death was upon him. Would he be considered a mathematically perfect date?
Thanks for sharing ...

Brother O ... that's what it told you ... ??? ... that you only have a year left, unless changes are made?!!! :eeek:
See ... that's just not right ... it is a very depressing concept ... and listen to yourself Brother O ... talking of never expecting to live this long ... oh my gosh ... that is probably a thought that has gone through the mind of every single Black Man, at some point in his life ... because every Black Man knows, the odds are against his living a long life. That is an automatic depression right there. Surely it has to be. Then you go on to speak of the economic situation, again, a concern that most every Black Man has had to deal with. Depression again. Then they give you this date, so you can almost resolve yourself to it. That is not good.
No Brother O ... as Sister Queen said ... we don't die ... we multiply!
Thank you for sharing, and please, don't count that thing.
Love You!
