Zulile 08-25-2007, 01:42 AM OmowaleX - please dont go. You're posts are valuable to me, whether or not I agree is something else.. but you certainly provide viewpoints that I take to mind and heart - thus value.
I have no idea what the rules are for moderators - but I'd hope that being impartial isnt one of them. I hope that they are moderators because they have proven to be dedicated to the site and what it stands for - but that shouldnt mean they cannot have their own opinions, and express them freely - be that in support or criticism of a topic. Diplomacy, sure - but gagging their voice, no.
Again I ask, please dont go. If there was no discord on some of these topics, there would be little to learn. A mod agreeing with you or not, any political games played behind the scenes.. any back-biting or nitpicking.. please dont let any of these things prevent you from posting as you are - you have a valuable contribution that exceeds any pettiness, and I would miss your "voice"

What I expressed was a long-harbored sentiment, which had nothing to do with Brother OmowaleX's ongoing conflict with a certain member; and most definately wasn't intended to insult any one's intelligence.

Brother OmowaleX,
I know you know that I appreciate what you share with the family, and your passion for OUR issues absolutely amazes me, at times. Although I may not agree with everything you present, there's no way I would back-bite, nor nit-pick you for frivolous reasons. We all have opinions which keyboarding and freedom of speech allows us to relay to the masses; however, I refuse to be silenced JUST because I'm in a position to keep the peace. Keeping THE peace, and speaking MY peace are both paramount in keeping this community afloat, and because my sentiments don't mirror yours doesn't equate malevolence on my behalf. Again, this seems to be a recurring pattern with you: you have all the rights to voice your opinion and to summon a moderator whenever you feel violated, but lo & behold, g-o-d forbid I, of all people, have anything to add to the discussion; ironic, dontcha' think?

For one, nothing BEGAN with the post you are referencing.
In fact, this has been a LONG-STANDING ISSUE with Me on this site and it was YOU who suggested recently that I take a HIATUS.
And nothing on my part here is "recurring". What IS "recurring" is another round of HATERS coming to this site and DISRUPTING the "peace" and YOU are not hardly playing a role in "keeping peace" even though that is how you see it.
What you ARE doing is re-inforcing FEAR and HATRED in Black people against other non-white people many of which are a lot more than "2% Black".
In fact, MOST of the BLACK PEOPLE who were taken from africa SPEAK NON-ENGLISH languages!
You typically demonstrate a BLACK-ENGLISH-SPEAKING {{BIAS}} and how can one "moderate" when voicing "opinions" that are BIASED.
I'm not the one here hung-up on the concept of RACE and neither are MOST BLACKS, Globally!
Again, I share leave you to your IGNORANCE in your ARROGANCE....

No need to name names when they have exposed themselves.
Quite frankly, I am just DONE with debating with folks who do NOT DEMONSTRATE the UNITY of ALL BLACK PEOPLE that they claim to represent.
If folks here are about bashing everyone who is NOT English-Speaking "Black" then I have nothing further to share here.

Not judging from the HAIRSTYLE!!!
[speaking of IRONIC]]!
spicybrown 08-25-2007, 03:32 AM For one, nothing BEGAN with the post you are referencing.
If that's true, then why did you wait until I commented to complain?
In fact, this has been a LONG-STANDING ISSUE with Me on this site and it was YOU who suggested recently that I take a HIATUS.
Hmmm, really? I recall advising you to "take a break, MOMENTARILY BEFORE POSTING IN A PARTICULAR DISCUSSION" before further dialoguing; never did I suggest you go embark on a hiatus, permanently.
And nothing on my part here is "recurring". What IS "recurring" is another round of HATERS coming to this site and DISRUPTING the "peace" and YOU are not hardly playing a role in "keeping peace" even though that is how you see it.
You announcing you're leaving if things don't go your way is recurring, Omowale. The world doesn't work that way, and it definately doesn't change in cyber-space. We're all people, and this universe has enough square mileage and air-space for all of our OPINIONS to float freely and agreeably in cyberspace.
What you ARE doing is re-inforcing FEAR and HATRED in Black people against other non-white people many of which are a lot more than "2% Black".
Ummm my thoughts aren't governable; therefore, I won't twiddle my thumbs and sit in silence while doling accolades to something I don't agree with. 2% or 75% Black, most of those Afro-Mexicans wouldn't defend us BLACKS against their fellow Mexicans. Pollyanna views of any one with a tan, and a broad nose won't massage the racial climate between many Afro-Latinos, Latinos and AA's.
In fact, MOST of the BLACK PEOPLE who were taken from africa SPEAK NON-ENGLISH languages!
You seem very passionate. I would rather debate and discuss such matters in a relative thread.
You typically demonstrate a BLACK-ENGLISH-SPEAKING {{BIAS}} and how can one "moderate" when voicing "opinions" that are BIASED.
I don't see how what I say about their loyalty or lack of, can be felt by them all the way in cyber-space... down past the border in Mexico. Sorry, I have the same bloodline as they, so there's no need for me to disparage. Just pitching in my .02... *shrugs*
I'm not the one here hung-up on the concept of RACE and neither are MOST BLACKS, Globally!
I'm not either, but it is what it is.
Again, I share leave you to your IGNORANCE in your ARROGANCE....
Is there something you want to talk about Omowale? It sure seems this is personal.

"Still Black and Proud"
Not judging from the HAIRSTYLE!!!
[speaking of IRONIC]]! Well, Black & Proud I am, regardless the hairstyle. I don't need to proclaim my "Blackness" to the world by kidnapping those who don't want to be kept to the Black race; that begets confusion, division, and many of the maladies already wreaking havoc in our community. All this high-siding sounds STRANGE coming from some one who supports any & everything with a tan, and is even enamored by the same "hairstyle" on droopy-eyed, middle-aged Latinas who basically took over a so-called "BM's" magazine. Ironic...

One, you have no PROOF that I "support any & everything with a tan" and who are you speaking of as "droopy-eyed, middle aged Latinas"?
This is straight up LYING. Because I refused to engage in BASHING the publisher of Black Men's mag for doing a cover of Vida Guerra who is YOUNGER THAN YOU!
"Support any & everything with a tan"
haha! how rediculous your claims are. I MARRIED a BLACK women FIVE SHADES DARKER THAN YOUR S/O!
Speaking of "strange"....look at yourself....CLOSELY!
spicybrown 08-25-2007, 04:12 AM One, you have no PROOF that I "support any & everything with a tan" and who are you speaking of as "droopy-eyed, middle aged Latinas"? You know exactly who I'm talking about. You going on a tangent because I don't agree with your politically correct views on Blackness is proof enough. This could have EASILY been discussed elsewhere.
This is straight up LYING. Because I refused to engage in BASHING the publisher of Black Men's mag for doing a cover of Vida Guerra who is YOUNGER THAN YOU! Sorry sweetie, I'm in my upper 20's, Vida-the BM-eater however is in her mid-30's. How did you not know that?
"Support any & everything with a tan" ... And that's what I ain't gon' do. You support whatever you please, but don't lambast me because I refuse to.
haha! how rediculous your claims are. I MARRIED a BLACK women FIVE SHADES DARKER THAN YOUR S/O! Well, that's good for you, and no one was mentioning my now HUSBAND in anything. It's ironic how he can leave such an impression on certain menfolk here... MONTHS after I removed our pics for personal reasons. The fact that you married a dark-skinned woman... is that supposed to make you Blacker than me? Are you trying to out-Black me? Knock yourself out whichever way. :em3600:
Speaking of "strange"....look at yourself....CLOSELY! You've already looked at me closely and can't find anything wrong with me... Sorry to disappoint.
Like I said, if you have personal issues with me because I married a FOINE Puerto Rican/Black/German biracial Brotha, and didn't make a pit-stop at a color-struck Brother, then that's something you need to take up with the almighty. Critiquing my husbands complexion and my hairstyle won't get you the slightest rise out of me... :read:
You can keep logging on & off all you want, but for the sake of your ego, and the sake of my position, I'll let you proceed in ranting to the person whom you initially addressed this thread to. Don't bother responding to THIS post.

Again, you are the CHIEF HYPOCRITE.
Not only do you spread hatred against "latinos" but again, this is not the first time you mentioned your "husbands" PUERTO RICAN BIRACIAL BLACk GERMAN BACKGROUND.
Yet, you got nerve to refer to someone else as "colorstruck".
What a joke you are.
"You've already looked at me closely and can't find anything wrong with me..."
Again, absolutely FALSE.
As stated before, you are BIASED and a HATER and an INSTIGATOR and have been from your earliest presence here, and the number of threads you've created which have been LOCKED DOWN speak to the CONFUSION you spread.
But, not enuff to file a "complaint" as you are just doing you. And its not an "impression" that has affected me or anything else but the HYPOCRISY of taking a position in croticizing Black men who even hint at showing any affection towards lighter-skinned women yet, here you are hooked up with a freaking MULATTO!
if that....more like a "german mutsteezo"
lol!!
spicybrown 08-25-2007, 08:55 AM Again, you are the CHIEF HYPOCRITE.
Not only do you spread hatred against "latinos" but again, this is not the first time you mentioned your "husbands" PUERTO RICAN BIRACIAL BLACk GERMAN BACKGROUND. If I could go a couple months without you or some other jealous, jaded, lonely, spiteful kneegrow mentioning him (which you did a few posts ago), I wouldn't have to REITERATE on him, or any "mixture". Feel me? It's not my problem many of you perceive me doing what you've been doing all of your lives: chasing ANYthing light/bright and darn near white. I know it pains some of you that some BW welcome the advances of men who don't look like YOU, you seethe and feel like KARMA is paying you a visit. SMH @ the deer-in-the-headlight hypocrisy.
Yet, you got nerve to refer to someone else as "colorstruck". What a joke you are. Like I said months ago, unlike you, I don't go on Black-oriented sites and cite "puppy dog eyed" Latinas as my preference, then turn right around and complain that there is no Black unity, and complain that Mexican/non-BM men are infuriated with BM for taking their women out of sheer inferiority complexes. If I'm so colorstruck, I wonder how I birthed a daughter who makes you look like a "redbone" in comparison:?:
As stated before, you are BIASED and a HATER and an INSTIGATOR and have been from your earliest presence here, and the number of threads you've created which have been LOCKED DOWN speak to the CONFUSION you spread. Oh, when I wanted to discuss IR relationships and how they affect the Black community, a few "Bros" couldn't handle it because they thought I was speaking indirectly to them? Is that what you're talking about? It isn't my fault some cant handle a perspective outside of the common female hoodrat chatter they are accustomed to hearing.
A "quadroon" to be exact. Ummm sweetie, you have never caught SpicyB whining over not getting chosen over a light-skinned woman, as I have always dated and am married to the finest Adonis I've laid eyes on; so lose the jealousy insinuation. If only you knew. Because I advocate a stance doesn't mean I am necessarily affected by it. What I spoke on in the past is, the rampant colorism in the Black community, wherein many BM refuse to date anything darker than a paper bag. Tell me that doesn't affect the community when 80% of BW are Brown & dark. And who's harping on U-N-I-T-Y? SMH. However, it's nice to see you eructing your true feelings. Your vibe was felt LOOONG ago, as well as others'. But guess what: I let petty stuff ride, and don't dwell on convicting threads that others created years ago. So I'm a colorstruck who... what?
if that....more like a "german mutsteezo" Jealous I see. More like a young, vibrant, sexy, foine, Alpha stud whose arms are wrapped around a BW... the same ilk that you try feverishly to obtain... to no avail; hence, your aggression, and OBSESSION with mentioning me & mine. Don't flatter us too much, you may provoke me to mention "US", and that may set you off like the 4th of July.

Destee 08-25-2007, 10:27 AM oh my ... i had no idea all of this was bubbling under the surface ...
but it's okay ... it's all good ... that which is inside, will (and sometimes must) come out.
Brother O ... Sister Spicy ... i think highly of both of you, and your opinions.
We have the thread ... who has the best plan of freeing us ... and i've really been moved by the responses shared there. Amazing information. I never thought posting that thread, would draw out such wisdom. I mention it because my plan in it, is simply that we love each other, and ourselves, properly.
I'm gonna challenge the two of you to do that, right here and now, in front of everyone.
I propose, that it doesn't really matter that we all agree, as we probably won't anyway.
Therefore, it will be incumbent upon us, to respect the differences in each other.
Just as we each want our selves, thoughts, etc., respected, we must give that to each other.
This community is a small, tiny, representation of us collectively. If we can't do it on this scale, we can't do it on any.
Brother O ... i don't agree with everything that is shared here, in the community. I don't agree with the actions and ways, of every Member. My agreeing has nothing to do with the goal. Uniting is the goal, and we must do it in spite of the disagreements. We must figure out how to achieve this end, while remaining together. Each of us must challenge ourselves to do this. We must make a 'difficult' interaction with a Sister or Brother, positive (as possible). Now, sometimes that could ultimately mean, limiting contact, but let that be after all other efforts have failed.
Brother O ... if i only remained here, because i agreed with all Members, i would have been gone years ago. But you aren't me, and you don't have to subject yourself to a community of people that don't agree with you ... but that is our people, all day and every day. It's been set up this way, that even we, can't stand each other. So, if you must, i surely understand, for it is a very trying existence.
Sister Spicy ... thank you for shedding some light on what's going on. I still don't have a real clue ... but that's okay ... because it looks like you and Brother O are working it out (at least talking about it together). It reminds me of the conversations you and Brother Pan used to have. Remember? He was a Moderator then, and you felt like he was attacking you, your opinion, being a bad Moderator, etc., (something like that), and now the tables are turned. Ironic huh?
Sister Zulile ... you are right ... "I have no idea what the rules are for moderators - but I'd hope that being impartial isnt one of them. Again ... i think the world of both of you, and i'm believing yall can work this out, in the best of manners, as an example for all.
If you can't ... then ... maybe the next two Sisters and Brothers that are challenged to exist together, can pick up from where the two of you left off, and succeed in moving us further up the mountain.
This great responsibility we have, to our people, is on each of us, individually.
I Love Yall!

There is NOTHING for me to be " jealous, jaded, lonely, spiteful" and I surely am no "kneegrow".
You can not PROVE any point in time where I stated a PREFERENCE for anything but DARK-SKINNED BLACK WOMEN.
I DARE YOU to try.
Karma is paying me nothing. Again, my WIFE and DAUGHTER are several shades DARKER than I am. Obviously I did NOT marry someone who is a "puppy eyed Latina".
Furthermore, WHEN and WHERE did I mention anything to the effect of "Mexican/non-BM are infuriated with BM for taking their women out of sheer inferiority complexes."
You are not only a LIAR but dreaming as well.
Quote:
"It isn't my fault some can't handle a perspective outside of the common hoodrat chatter they are accustomed to hearing."
LOL!
Common hoodrat chatter?
In fact, that is why I need to give this a break. Tired of hearing YOUR "hoodrat chatter". Which reminds me of the middle schoolers I left behind in Cali. It seems I cant tell YOUR "chatter" apart from theirs.
"A quadroon to be exact."
LOL!
My WIFE is PURO AFRICANO, so again, nothing to be "jealous" about.
Which is why you really need to CHECK YO SELF on that "latino bashing".
"If only you knew."
I already know.
You are one of these "kneegrows" with double standards and use them to judge ALL brothers that you DO NOT KNOW.
For the MOST PART, I have dated and stated REPEATEDLY a "preference" for DARK-SKINNED WOMEN.
So, your "colorstruck" issue is NOT MY **** PROBLEM and the fact that you even choose to keep harping on that "Vida Guerra thread" shows how PETTY and VINDICTIVE you are.
I addressed this thread to Destee and would have left things alone but here YOU came. If you had kept your mouth SHUT I would have "left in peace".
But if I go out, I will go out not afraied of banishment.
Afterall, isnt this the fate of MOST BROTHERS who have spoken out against people LIKE YOU?
"Keeping the Peace"?
hahahaharoflambaoooo.....:haha:
You DONT KNOW what the word means!
Before he died Malcolm X taught that we need allies.I know some of YOU still cant grasp that concept. So, agin, there is nothing to be jealous about. I am down with whoever is down with me.
Simple as that. And obviously YOU are what the messenger referred to as an "open enemy". Seeking to destroy the multi-Ethnic UNITY that Others before you have Built. And what are YOU building in place.
NOTHING but Hatred.
Later....no more time for HATERS.

The SAME person who brother Pan called "colorstruck" using this persons OWN TESTIMONY.
Not only IRONIC, but again, HYPOCRITICAL.
I came here to deal with raising AWARENESS concerning the Black August Movement and a thread dealing with Black Power and Hip Hop.
I left then came back.
MOST of the threads I have created are of HISTORIC and CULTURAL value.
Over the past TWO years I have created my OWN "Family" and my OWN websites.
I AM in contact with THOUSANDS of "friends" daily. MOST of whom are writers, musicians, performing artists, within the entertainment industry. ALL Races, ALL Nationalities, ALL Genders and ALL Cultures.
I operate, OWN and manage over 20 websites. Daily.
MY experience here is one of seeking to address concerns about Building, Plans, SOLUTIONS for the benefit, primarily, of BLACK PEOPLE, but not BLACK People only.
Why? Because as a MUSICAN and WEB Designer MOST of my "friends" and "associates" happen to be non-Black.
This just happens to be MY Reality.
Enuff said.
Peace!

Brother O ... you say you're going to cut through the BS ... but now i'm confused more.
I asked you to name names, put everything on the table, and i still haven't seen you do that.
I'm not sure what exactly your complaint is. You mentioned a Moderator in your first post, i'm reluctantly assuming that you're speaking of Sister Spicy, but you've never said that. You admonished her for responding in this thread, since it's addressed to me, so i don't know if i can count what she says, as what you mean ... ya know?
Did Sister Spicy break a rule, violate in some way, and you want to bring that to my attention? If so, please show me where you think that occurred ... a link to the post, something, so i can see what you're counting as a rule violation.
Now you're talking about the management structure of the community, who's on the TEAM, and perhaps why? Is that your question? How the Moderating TEAM came to be as it is right now?
You mention folk coming and going, haters, with different opinions and positions over the years. Yes, i'll agree with that, we've had some of all of that, and will probably see more.
But again, i'm just not sure what your specific complaint is ... what's making you want to leave?
Frustration? Yes, i agree, it can be overwhelming at times.
Brother O ... tell me ... what do you want me to do ... how can i fix these things that concern you?
As a web site owner yourself, tell me, how do you manage your sites and 'control' your Members?
I'm open to all suggestions.

In all due respect, I do not have a SPECIFIC "complaint". In the five years I have been associated with this site I have not filed a single complaint against any member and I do not intend on filing one now.
As stated, I am planning on following a members advice and will be taking a "hiatus" as I have done before. Only, it may be permanent in this case.
I have NO problems with the "moderating structure". yet, I find it IRONIC that there is not a single BROTHER "moderating" the threads for BLACK MEN-Warriors.
Instead I SEE a "moderator" who brother Pan once referenced as having "colorstruck issues".
A "moderator" who has had several threads CLOSED that they authored.
And this person speaks of "keeping the Peace".
Again, not only IRONIC, but Hypocritical. Furthermore, you ALWAYS provke me to name names as if YOu "dont know" who or what I am talking about.
If this is the case...that YOu really "dont know"....
Oh well.....I came in PEACE.....but all I find is.......:uhh:

Brother O ... i believe you're right, in that you've never filed an "official complaint" ... but that would be better than the veiled complaints that you give me. When you file an "official complaint" it puts me in a position to have to respond to it "officially." So it's good to do that. It's better to do that, than to do what you do ... just say stuff, without wanting to make it official, just complain never presenting evidence or anything ... never giving me anything i can do anything with. I'd rather have the official ... it's much easier to resolve. Doing it this way, almost ties my hands, because i have nothing to do anything with ... except some grumbling.
Yes, i could guess, try and cipher what you mean, read between the lines, try to find the posts (out of thousands) that offended you or have you feeling the way you do ... but why must i do that when you can just show me? Take me right to it. Point to it. Make this process easier, by removing all vague and unnecessary pieces. I've never been good at reading between the lines. I always get it wrong, so i am reluctant to do it. I will always ask for more information, more clarification, if i feel i need that. I don't take my decisions here lightly, as oftentimes they set precedent. So yes, i want names. I want times, places, links, evidence. Yes, i need that in order to make a decision. If you're willing to bring a complaint (in any form), you should be willing to provide this information.
We are more than 10 years old now. The community has had a host of different Moderators. The balance always shifts, but in spite of this, we're always trying to maintain it. Some moments you may look at the TEAM, and it's more this, or more that. Please don't think that we're trying to leave any segment of the community "un-represented." There was a time on the TEAM, when i was accused by a Sister, that i favored the Brothers, because there was 4 Brothers on the TEAM, and one Sister. My response to her, is the same i'm giving you. It fluctuates, but you can trust, i love all of us! In addition, whether a Moderator is male or female, doesn't really play a part in their actual moderating duties. The rules for the Brother's Forum, are the same for the Sister's Forum. I guess my point is, moderating really isn't distinguishable, from one discussion forum to the next. But i do hear you, and we'll get a Brother on that particular TEAM as soon as possible! :)
Yes, Sister Spicy has had her share of 'moments' here in the community, but i'm proud of her. She's made lots of great progress. I remember when i useta hafta talk to her in the chat room, and i'd say, Sister ... c'mon now ... :) ... and she'd be all so fiery spicy'd up ... wanting to share her thoughts, and feeling like she was being mistreated ... just wanting to get the words out of her, no matter how they were received. Sister Spicy has grown a lot, and i'm proud to have her on the Moderating TEAM. She's allowed to have her opinion, and i, nor you, have to agree with it. She loves this community, has been faithful to it, given of herself both financially as well as her precious time and wisdom. There's lots of good things one could find, when viewing Sister Spicy. I guess we all choose to focus on the part we want to focus on.
Brother O ... in the same manner, i see all the good in you as well.
We have to find the good in each other, and focus on it, if we are ever to be successful as a people.
So that's what i do, as much as possible.
I don't want you to leave, but i understand if you feel it's what you must do.
You know i aint got nuth'n but love for you Brother O.
Matter of fact, i intend on responding to some of the things you've shared recently, i just haven't had much time lately. You've shared some really great stuff, where the term 'white supremacy' came from, that was awesome! I wanna talk about that. I wanna talk about 'The Council of Elders' you mentioned. You may not have said it exactly like that, but oh my gosh, i want to know more about that! So many things, so many good things Brother O, that you bring to the table ... and if i never get any more ... i'll be forever grateful, for that which you've already given.
Much Love and Peace.

Kamau47 08-25-2007, 02:41 PM In all honesty, thanks for your love and support.
However, I can no longer tolerate the back-biting and nit-picking and impartiality of some of your moderating team.
I LEAVE you in Peace, before I am banished!
brother Omowale....
Brother,
I have not posted much as I have chosen to listen rather than speak. In this way, I can dedicate my thoughts on what is said rather than a comment on what was said.
People like you on this site have given me so much. I am a 50 yr old black man who up until 1996 had no idea of who I was as a Black man, or the unique and proud history of us. And to be honest with you, I really didn't care. My only concern in life was the self. I did not know or care that I had a connection not only with other Blacks around me, but my ancestors as well. I only cared about the moment and what pleasures I could get out of it. I was brainwashed & blinded. But in 1996, the book "Before The Mayflower" completely & ultimately changed my whole outlook and course in life (and believe it or not, it was a white woman who suggested the book to me, as she saw someone who needed something more in and out of life). I have not looked back since. I have devoted my life to learning more about not only myself, but my brothers & sisters. I crave this knowledge.
And once I found this site, I have downloaded, copied, printed & kept a library of information from people like you who have shared their knowledge, comments and thoughts on just about every subject. It has been such a treasure of information that I feel is so powerful, that I often take it to work to share it with other brothers & sisters. Your thoughts are important to me, as you are one to give what you have up-front & without sugar-coating. Honesty is important to me, and you are honest. I do not agree with everything you say, as I don't with any one person. But that is the beauty of it all, because I don't think one should just totally agree with anything from anybody. But you have given me a lot of good & powerful info that I have benefited from.
That is why I hope that you will reconsider your decision to leave, as your absence would be missed. You are a part of something probably more than you are aware of. Just because somebody disagrees with you, remember that there is probably someone who is getting your message. They may not be vocal, but they are there.
Don't silence your voice brother!
truetothecause 08-25-2007, 04:24 PM I agree with Zulilie and Kamau47...
I've received a great deal from your sharings and would miss them and you..and...at the same time...I can appreciate the frustration which arises in how WE communicate our differences with each other.
That's why my mantra is...L.O.V.E. Lifting Our Valuable Energy.
For M.E. that means....I try and FOCUS on the things WE have in COMMON vs. the points of difference FIRST.
"When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road your trudging seems all uphill
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must...BUT DON'T YOU QUIT"
Zulile 08-25-2007, 05:26 PM That's why my mantra is...L.O.V.E. Lifting Our Valuable Energy.
Wonderful! I'll adopt it, raise & nuture it, and pass it on.
spicybrown 08-25-2007, 06:37 PM You can not PROVE any point in time where I stated a PREFERENCE for anything but DARK-SKINNED BLACK WOMEN.
I DARE YOU to try.
I don't care WHAT/WHO you have a preference for. The issue is YOU trying with all your might to embrace and accept non-Blacks (Latinos), DESPITE their non-compliance, and obvious disdain for the Black race. That makes you appear loathing and desperate.
Karma is paying me nothing. Again, my WIFE and DAUGHTER are several shades DARKER than I am. Obviously I did NOT marry someone who is a "puppy eyed Latina".
Please, Omowale, when I mentioned the droopy-eyed Latina, I was magnifying your hypocrisy in you talking about my "hairstyle" when the same broad, Vida, wehom you likely voted for, and have expressed an attraction for, has the same "hairstyle". How dare you question my Blackness as a BW; yet, salivate over a non-Black Latina and try to draft her kind to the Black race. See the idiocy in that? But of course, you knew all along that's what I was talking about. Typical diversionary, clueless tactics when you get figured out.
Furthermore, WHEN and WHERE did I mention anything to the effect of "Mexican/non-BM are infuriated with BM for taking their women out of sheer inferiority complexes."
All those threads you make about Black/Mexican relations. Don't tell me as a so-called man that you are oblivious as to why non-BM despise BM: they take their women, and don't respect BM because they exude inferiority when they do. Heck, I'm a woman, and I knew that one. SM(D)H
Common hoodrat chatter?
In fact, that is why I need to give this a break. Tired of hearing YOUR "hoodrat chatter". Which reminds me of the middle schoolers I left behind in Cali. It seems I cant tell YOUR "chatter" apart from theirs.
If that's what made you flee Cali, then that makes you a weak person. SMH
My WIFE is PURO AFRICANO, so again, nothing to be "jealous" about.
Which is why you really need to CHECK YO SELF on that "latino bashing".
"If only you knew."
Oh please, you know dayum well you aren't defending Afro-Latinos. You want to claim the mixed ones because you feel bad about being Black. I've seen you in the past mention that women like you because you are "light-skinned" when it's CLEAR you are far from it. I questioned you about it, and you drew blank. SMH.
You are one of these "kneegrows" with double standards and use them to judge ALL brothers that you DO NOT KNOW.
For the MOST PART, I have dated and stated REPEATEDLY a "preference" for DARK-SKINNED WOMEN.
Well, goody for you. I could care less who you prefer, just be consistent with that preference when you get political.
So, your "colorstruck" issue is NOT MY **** PROBLEM and the fact that you even choose to keep harping on that "Vida Guerra thread" shows how PETTY and VINDICTIVE you are.
Laughable. Hmmm, that's ironic, because in that very thread, I suggested that the sisters who WERE ACTUALLY whining over BM preferring the Vidas of the world, to embrace men who actually WANT BW, and not sweat BM who place non-BW on pedestals. Remember that? Of course you do; you just can't handle the fact that I'm a sister, who in the event, wouldn't mope around for 3 decades waiting for a BM to love himself, then me. Get over it.
I addressed this thread to Destee and would have left things alone but here YOU came. If you had kept your mouth SHUT I would have "left in peace".
And that's it. Sexism spilleth from your fingertips again. No, I will address what issue I please, when I please, and there's nothing you can do about it. You don't know your boundaries, and refuse to show me respect since I became a moderator, ever since I first moderated one of your posts, the FIRST thing you mentioned was me being a mod, DESPITE the fact that I hadn't posted to, around, and about you for several months prior. And I'M a vindictive who... what?
But if I go out, I will go out not afraied of banishment.
Afterall, isn't this the fate of MOST BROTHERS who have spoken out against people LIKE YOU?
You seal your own fate.
Before he died Malcolm X taught that we need allies.I know some of YOU still cant grasp that concept. So, agin, there is nothing to be jealous about. I am down with whoever is down with me.
That's all good, But, what Aljahiz and I was discussing was that the very people you're oogling over AREN'T down with you. Hard pill to swallow, apparently.
Simple as that. And obviously YOU are what the messenger referred to as an "open enemy". Seeking to destroy the multi-Ethnic UNITY that Others before you have Built. And what are YOU building in place.
How could I destroy that which never existed? LMBAO! You need to remove the rainbow shades you're wearing and saturate you brain in some unadulterated Blackness. I guess all the "multi-ethnic" unity is what caused you to flee form the multi-racial utopia here in Cali, right? I'm a realist, not a dreamer.

spicybrown 08-25-2007, 07:10 PM Sister Spicy ... thank you for shedding some light on what's going on. Ironic huh?
If that's the upside to being a mod, I'll relish it. Yanno, Des, this can actually be therapeutic to those whose lives revolve around drama and insulting others, but these debates-turned-personal spats is tiring, and childish to say the least. I do remember when Brother Panafrica was a mod, and he was another who ALWAYS mentioned my then s/o, (how him and I are not "Black"... lol)in a debate when he was running low on fuel JUST like Omowale did. I don't understand it. He would shut down all IR threads on the forums, but STAY in the chatroom chatting the night away ABOUT IR.
One day in chat Pan, a few others and I were discussing something political, and it turned "personal". I then asked him why he had a problem with me, and he stated something relative to: "Because you think all men want you".
He then proceeded to mention that AA women wear fake hair and are carbon copies of African women. I DISMANTLED his hypocrisy and stated that his AFRICAN WIFE wore fake hair, and is now officially an AA woman... so how could he take cheap shots at AA women, when the very woman he lays down with every night IS an AA with fake hair. You can guess what he said afterward: That I was "hating" on his wife. LOL.
I have NEVER attacked any one for their personal beliefs, not even their racial preference, unwarranted. But I guess it is what it is.
It's not that serious, but I'm just sayin

Zulile 08-25-2007, 07:46 PM Perhaps taking this personal argument to PM's or offline is a possibility. well, it is more likely to meet a resolution of sorts without knowing you are speaking to the world, and without air.. just some basic "one on one". Besides, it doesnt seem like either view has support from the community as I havent seen any other participation on this topic, outside of asking that O doesnt leave - no matter how many threads it has been dragged through ;)

Sister Spicy ... i'm gonna come in and speak to this, because i probably opened up this can of worms.
I mentioned Brother Pan because this situation mirrors the situation you and he had. In that, he was a Moderator, with his own opinion, and you disagreed with his opinion, even challenging his ability to be fair and unbiased when it comes to moderating ... because of that opinion ... just like Brother O is doing you now. My position back then, and now, is the same, in that ... neither you nor Pan did anything wrong as it relates to moderating ... but you have both been accused. You accused Pan of the very same thing Brother O is accusing you of. It is that irony i was speaking of.
I didn't mean to encourage you to talk about Brother Pan's wife again, in their absence.
It is these kinds of comments that rile most of us up. If he were here, this would be another fight between the two of you.
The only way someone can make mention of another's Family Members, drag them into the discussion, is if they themselves introduce them first. You introduced your husband into the discussion at some point. Brother Pan introduced his wife into the discussion. Brother O has introduced something into the discussion.
Now, as then, you all are using these very personal pieces that have been voluntarily introduced, to attack each other.
While this is not against the rules, it could probably be considered a little below the belt, and perhaps even juvenile.
I think it's really wrong, to say things about Brother Pan's wife, when he nor she is here. Whatever was said months ago, should have stayed there. Now it is in a post today, with Members who knew nothing of the particulars of that situation, reading ugly words about Brother Pan's wife, with no real defense, counter, or provocation (by them). That's not right.
I happen to LOVE Brother Pan and his wife. They will both always have a special place in my heart, which is why i can't let the above go, without speaking to it (in their stead).
Again, i probably opened the door for this, but i never expected anything like the above, to be posted.
My apologies Brother and Sister Pan.

Enuff said.
Peace!
I'd hate to see you go to bro. I'm also in the business of music and I was hoping to dialog with you about some things. There are alot of positive actions you could be doing here in lui of engaging in the negative . I've seen you go thru alot worst than this (at least to me) and you stuck it thru. So don't let a few sista/brothas here blind you from the rest of the peeps here you don't bump heads with. :qqb026:
And this is not intended to shed any bad light on other folks involved in this particular matter.
I don't want to make anybody feel like they have to defend themselves
Peace.
