This week's Sister Chat topic will be: Hypertension. One in three adult Americans has hypertension, or high blood pressure, and nearly one-third of them don't know they have it. Hypertension, is quite prevalent among African Americans, and tends to occur earlier and be more severe than in whites. Some questions to think about before class:

3. What are the types of high blood pressure?

3. What are the risk factors for hypertension?

4. Are there any symptoms?

5. What diseases can hypertension contribute to?

6. How is hypertension treated?

7. Why is high blood pressure so prevalent among Blacks?
