Last class we settled on a thesis statement and I gave you the assignment of writing an introductory paragraph for that statement. I have put together some guidelines and a sample to get you started.

From this page click on "Introductory Paragraph." Use these same principles to write your own introductory paragraph.
Our thesis is: So many Black men are in jail because of white racism.
Use this thread to post the paragraph you write. Also you can/should respond to one another's paragraphs.. Respond as a reader not an expert writer or composition instructor. Does the writer make it clear what his/her paper is going to be about? Does the paragraph leave you interested in what the rest of the paper is going to say? Things like that.
