Can someone please explain 2 me what the "American dream" is??

i have heard it a few times...but i'm unsure of it....
(and does it include African-Americans.....can a black perosn in America have this "dream"!

the american dream

is a house 2 cars a wife and kids and a great career

and the debt the goes with trying to afford all of that
