It happened when joy dissipated
Into a bastion of despair
Morale became the twin of failure
Suddenly in just a flash of time
A ray of light penetrated the total darkness of night
And there appeared "The Dark Lady"
The brief illumination highlighted her shimmering beauty
Replete with Egyptian eyes and long flowing hair
Her shadow cast upon the smooth ground
Revealing her truly amazing form

A lady capable of imparting a fortune of wisdom
Remarked about the turmoil of love gained and lost
And passion misplaced
The endless drifting from one pile of dust
To another pile of dust
In search of eternal and consuming love

With her feminine wilds demonstrated
How one woman could have it all
And offer it to a man
Who deserved to have it all

She was in the spotlight for just an instant
But time was suspended
And it seemed like an eternity

Then came the kiss, passionate and succulent
And then the light abated and "The Dark Lady" was no more

Her beauty remains a memory and her wisdom is my guide
I remain waiting to give it all again to "The Dark Lady"

Thanks to all for the positive comments, yours too Spicybrown. Maybe I should spend more time in this section. I have been a poet for about twenty years, and have had two books published. I do like the warm comments here. Thanks again
