View Full Version : Black Poetry : Alone?

sahara heart

An unpleasant silence wraps around me with a lingering restlessness that won't fade
I am whole but unaware of this wholeness
I yearn for baby like arms around my neck
soft skin brushing against my own youthful exterior
I find myself wandering after firm hands to keep me from rocking
back and forth in my sweat drenched slumber
My soul feels hollow and searches for the blanket of a hug
that envelopes it day and night
This loneliness has birthed a doubtfulness in a mind once stable
Obscurity has replaced a one time know it all
My pride has succumbed to calls of humility
The path I walk is no more special that that of my brothers
I struggle to grasp what it is to be a warrior
What it is to be a warrior

Solitude now seems like a plague I want to avoid
The world outside me breeds activity; a harsh reality of ugly noise
I don't want to jump
The world inside of me seeks companionship of a friend
unpretentious and true
I long for the touch of a chubby, scarily soft baby hand on
my tear soaked cheek
Letting me know that innocence is bliss - sometimes - but never saving
that pride is overrated, humility overlooked, truth ever present
And loneliness just an attempt to quiet my ever battling soul
of a Warrior

Oh Dear sweet Sahara heart,
First KNOW..(not think or feel) that you are never "alone".
Yet, we all have our set time and place for everything. It's just time for You're space right now.
All that you desire ...will soon follow, so do enjoy and pamper you, In this given space :spin:

This is the second time I read this piece, and I still don't quite know what to say, but... You so eloquently wrote of what a strong soul feels, when it has been beaten down. Yet...the soul shall rise again. Powerfully scribed.
