Previous ref. to a particular emperor credited with the prosytelization of these spiritual philosophies which were anchored in african cosmogonies.

These cultures which inherited various combinations of archaic universal truths are not the sole proprieters or owners of these concepts but have managed to maintain the integrity in unique ways.

The events described in this chapter are microcosms of a phenomenon that is prevalent throughout history. The way the left-brain thinking western mind tries to isolate the physical from the spiritual. Since he thinks that nothing but the physical exists it stands to reason that he would think that if he takes the physical practices of our traditions they will work for him in some mechanical fashion devoid of the spiritual aspect. No wonder they get disillusioned with "that eastern stuff."
