Another friend of mine put me on to this documentary by "Maya B". This doc explores the impact American slavely had on Black women and Black women's sexuality. Really, I'll let this film speak for itself. And say I'm so glad we're starting to tell our stories. Sister's are shown and interacted with, as real people - not mamies, not Jezebels. I'm so glad the director was for real about Black women's and our sexual history.

Has anyone seen this film yet? Is there any accompanying literature with/for it?

I saw the film. It brought up some good points, but I feel failed to really connect the vestiges of slavery to today's sexuality in Black women.

Brother Shemsi, I have not seen this movie, but from the few documentaries I have seen, I have felt the same way as you.
Do you know of any lectures, articles, videos or documentaries that properly attack the problem, and really "connect the vestiges" as you beautifully put it?"
Much love, will watch this sometime later.
Nia.

Sorry, can't say that I do know of any good videos or lectures. This is why I was so eager to watch this one.
