Peace and Blessings Family,

I received the following complaint from Sister Watzinaname. In an effort to resolve this in the best of manners, allowing all involved to respond, i'm posting it here.

Destee,

I am registering a complaint. I was in voice chat, tonight, and PatriceCQueen and I were reading poetry. Everybody was giving our poetry props, and we were doing the same for each other, everything seemed cool. At one point PatriceCQueen mentioned that we could each do a poem about Katrina, and read it next week, and we each thought it was a great idea. Right after that she said that "this poem is for you, watz", and proceeded to read a poem about a drunken jigaboo. Now, after she was done, I asked her what she meant by it, and I asked if she was drunk, and once again she said it was for me, and that she doesn't drink. She mentioned the Katrina poetry again, and said that she had to take a nap, and perhaps she would be back later. I am not the only one who heard the poem. The last thing that I expect is to come into a forum that is supposed to be about supporting Black people, and be told that a jigaboo poem is for me.

Watz

I wasn't present during any of the above, which took place on 08/25, so i have no first hand knowledge of it.

I'm sure Sister Patrice will respond when she sees this.

PatriceCQueen and I were able to come to an understanding about this incident, and now all is well. Case closed.

Thank you Sister Watz ... it's always good when Sisters (and Brothers) can work out their differences in the best of manners.

I'm proud of both of you, and glad you're here with us!
