Hello Family,

Over the years, several Members have asked me, how did i get started. Just recently, Brother Sefirot asked (http://destee.com/forums/showpost.php?p=431125&postcount=3), and because i didn't currently have anything up that chronicled the beginning days, i thought i'd (re)create the page. The link is below.

Mannnnnnnnnn its nothing like going down memory lane. Destee I remember that photo page like it was yesterday. As soon as I clicked on it I was like I remember this, wow. I started in chat soon after you began, I am one of your long and loyal chat fans:geek: I even remember the story of your daugter and how Destee was named Destee. Thanks for taking us down memory lane sis, its a beautiful trip :toast:

after choosing the name Destee, i was soon referring to myself as Destee on occasion, as well as others doing so. Destiny was so mad at me! With her 2 year old little self, she let me know, in no uncertain terms, that her name was Destiny, not mine, and I could not steal her name! It was so precious! I had to fully explain to her that the names were different, and that I would never steal from her. She soon understood, and calmed down. I guess it's good that the name "Destiny" was already taken!
Adorable :)

The forest is often admired without respect due to the seed that started it.
That was a wonderful and enlightening story, Sis.
Before I found this site, I felt like a sane person in an insane asylum (and slowly losing sanity).
It's good to actually experience the reality that I am not alone.
The God within you shines. Thank You.

:terrific:

Not to be selective-

But I need to Thank the following people for making me a much, much stronger person inside and out:

Sistah NNQueen (Queenie)
Sistah River
Brotha Isaiah (Bless his heart)
Brotha Samurai
Brotha Manasiac
Brotha Panafrica
Brotha Radical Faith
Brotha Info-moetry
Brotha Keita
Brotha Omo
of course: Professor Oldsoul

But I honestly would NOT have gotten to these people if it were not for Sistah Destee settin' the stage for it all to happen. All of the extensive time spent learning to design the site? I could not handle it myself!

None of this could have been possible if she did not open the doors to me, or many other people here. It always went through my mind that Sistah Destee will receive payback for all that she has gone through to make this happen for us, and I still believe that. As a matter of fact, words can and will not express what is in store for her due to the many people here who have, and will become 'Warriors' in our Communities.

I thank you for that 'Testimony,' and hope everyone else comes to recognize how Powerful that is.

I want to thank you, salute you and commend you for this great project. I especiallty want to praise this thread. Insha-Allah (GOD-willing), I will go through this entire thread with a fine tooth comb in order to learn as much as I possibly can learn from your experience.

Pan-Africanism, of which this project is a part, is the key to the ultimate sucess of the African Revolution. I am convinced that the internet and other means of modern communiocation will prove to be the vehicle by which we will eventually establish links among Arabs and Africans all over the world. It can also serve to organize and coordinate various aspects of the Revolution.
This is why I am learning all that I can about projects such as this one. With the knowledge that i am acquiring, I expect to be able to implement the the highest goals of the African Revolution.

Again, I thank you.

The brief historical journey into the origins of this board was very instructive. It shows what grit, determination and confidence and faith in ones abilities, (attributes required in greater volume in our community I might add), can accomplish. I look forward to meaningful exchanges for the duration I am here, and thank you for providing this forum.
