I was a warehouse manager of a manufactering company and she was a dispatch clerk at a trucking company...I would call in pick up requests for finished goods shipping to various places. We spoke on the phone for a while. Then one day got up enough nerve to ask her more about herself. I eventually asked her out on a date...We didn't become serious until one day she called me after she had been in a car accident...She was little shaken and I was concerned about her...She melted my heart...Later that evening she invited me to her place and I went and checked on her visited for a while and left and went back to my home...The rest is history...

Peace...

I was out from the city visiting my cousin for the summer. I was walking past the local pool in the community and saw this young lady fighting off three guys I knew in the pool. She looked so fine, and strong. Her hair was all curled up in little springs after getting wet. I asked my girl cousin if she knew her. I then asked my cousin to introduce us. She slammed the door in my face. Two years later we were dating. The rest is twenty three years later. Add on the ( exclusive, close and intimate ) dating time and it is thirty three.

She still charms my heart.... :getout: you hear that baby!

I'm a little late, however I'd like to add my story. My husband and I met at a track & field clinic held by Carl Lewis in 1986. We were both high school sophs. Initially I could not stand him because of his arrogant attitude. But we hung out in with same set. So as you can imagine, we argued constantly because I did what I could to gain his attention while smashing his ego. The sexual tension was like WOW. Fortunately we attended different high schools (inner city for him and burbs for me) so nothing ever happened. Besides, he always called me stuck up and insulted every guy I dated. I returned the favor by dogging out his girlfriends (they all had stalker tendancies..lol) Yet somehow he became my best friend and worst critic. A yr later he asked me to his senior prom and I accepted. We were married our soph yr of college. Years later, I found out that on day we met, he told his brother and friends that he would marry me some day. 20yrs and 3 kids later, he is still an arrogant know it all.

..........

A mutual friend had been trying to set us up for about 2 years. I worked out of country so it was hard to make time to see her. When I was available she was dating someone. I never saw her and didn't care if I met here cause I heard she was petite, If a woman wasn't over a size 10 I wouldn't waste my time. So our friend sets up a blind date on her birthday at her house, she's having a party. But I wouldn't go cause I didn't want to be stuck for a couple hours trying to make small talk. Fortunately part two of the party was at nightclub to do some steppin'. When I get to the club, she and three female cousins were going into the club. Of course I pick all three of her cousins good candidates. Yes she was small, about a size 6. I took her number and called her the next night. Guess what, we talked about 5 hours.
The only date I could get was helping her deliver meals on wheels or helping out with the girl scouts. It wasn't easy for her I think I was the most conceited man in Chicago back then. She told all her friends I was crazy and didn't expect me to be around long. WELL I'M STILL HEEERRREEE! And all is right in our world.

wow! I didnt realize there was a discussion board on this website! just thought it was poetry... my lazy butt never scrolled down far enough!

i met my wife on craigslist. i THOUGHT i was cruising, but after our first conversation (by email), i deleted my ad. then we had a series of chaperoned dates/friendly meetings, at the mosque, starbux, etc. i asked her to marry me. we even attended premarital counseling. i've been divorced multiple times, so this was different for me--i never even so much as held her hand before we married. it wasn't long either, but i didnt use to be the kind of brother that was waited for anything. she is the best thing i ever got, besides my kids!
