View Full Version : Black People : BUILDING UNITY

Note:
I deleted the original post out of frustration. In retrospect, I am more disappointed than I was when first posting this thread. Black people are full of talk and no action.
Except for attacking each other on petty issues. We are very good at that. In fact, I would say we invented the words "genocide" and "fracticide". This goes back to the Legend of Osiris and Set. Brother against Brother. Millions of years later, no change. And we are continuously crying about white supremacy.
We only give lip service to the concept of Black Unity. And this is why it remains a concept. African Union. Simply a catch-phrase.
And the people who do the most talking are the first ones to accuse others of doing nothing. While all they do is argue, debate and engage in ideological posturing. Pontificating. Leading Black people no where except into the Abyss.
This is more than confusion.
This is "madness".

I-khan 05-26-2006, 05:33 PM With all of the talk about Unity, and about "enemies" what do YOU have to show and prove concerning YOUR own achievement in the BLACK community?
I am standing on the shoulders of giants so I have alot to prove and do.
What institutions have you BUILT or are YOU in the process of BUILDING?
I am in the process of obtaining the resources needed to create institutions that can help unify us. I must take this a step at a time, though not forgetting to plan. However there are so many things that need to be solved and adressed within our world community I am a bit confused as to where to start.
How has YOUR "BUILDING" contributed to the Liberation of African people in YOUR Local Community and in the African Diaspora, at large?
On an individual basis I have loaned books (by J.H. Clarke, and others) to some of my fellow brethren that claimed that they normally would not have read them, but when I am done with my institution building I will let you know.

i'll generally tackle the question... I humble myself to other members here who do far more than I do or have done. for the past three years I've done wrap it up parites.. over the last five years i've registered over 1100 people to vote... MYSELF!... I drive approx 50-75 people to the poles every year during elections... and shuttle approx 200-250 during presidential election years... i speak one a year during spring at five local high schools about sex/children and what not and once a year at a couple different places about rape.... i use radio to help empower my people through knowledge... i try to drop jewels as often as I can...and i make it my mission to try to employ as many diligent/capable black people as i can... i am apart of the mayor's task force against violence and his minority work incentive program... not just apart... i am pretty active..... not to mention i am in the big sister program...
and more important than all of that i'm raising a future king and queen to embody and exude the qualities and traits i think my people need to survive...
it's not much however... i do what i can..... since i'm moving within a month... i will have to start over again with most of these things... or start fresh on something else...

$$RICH$$ 05-26-2006, 10:23 PM I've allowed myself to get involved in the community in many things that helps
bring unity , myself and a few brothers in the hood has formed together to get
our youth off the streets with a center for after school programs , we beat the
streets talking to the teens /cleaning the corners up starting a baseball camp
I have involvement with helping the homeless / the elderly in nursing homes
working with voters and a few other small community things , this has brought
many of the men together and now we have a bowling night to spend to ourselves.
But i still have somethings in the makings and working on it to help people in need
of food / utilities payment all this in a working format and proposal.

It's interesting that you mentioned bowling. This is something I was thinking about last night. Good idea for networking which a lot of down home Black folks in the church used to do.
Keep up the good work!

Natinr 01-24-2008, 01:39 AM the Bloods are in all 50 states! even some Native American reservations, in London Paris and Accra Ghana.
Pants with buttocks out, are a style, along with skull and bones, from Boston to Sedona, from Little Rock to Seatle.
The Unity is there!!!!!!!!!

Yes!
Can we change it around to reflect the 7 principles?
Yes!!!
Will it be easy?
No!
What is the step by step process,
and do we care enough to discuss a plan?

Please help me to understand this. What is the significance of "Bloods" and their presence of them being a global phenomenon?
What is the UNITY that is there? As far as I know, "Bloods" are a loosly affiliated gang with no central organization. I doubt if most "Bloods" even know what it means to be a "BLOOD"? What does that stand for?
The Unity is there!!!!!!!!!

HOW can we change it around to reflect the 7 principles? Step by Step. I know that Jim Brown developed Amer-I-Can project and has been marginally successful in turning around former Blood leaders, particularly one of the BPS founders Darryl "Tee" Rogers. Same with a group in los angeles known as Unity One.
Again, coming from the City of Bloods & CRIPS I am asking for practical solutions and ideas so that I can pass them along.
I am also more concerned not with discussion of plans but programmatic implementation. And I speak from the perspective of a long-time community and student activist who created a community service program 27 years ago which is still operational and working in a housing project in Compton, in an area of high blood/crip gang infracticide.

Since some group in Compton does not know how to reach our youth in Compton
, the way the Oligarchy is able to reach the minds of our youth ALl OVER THE WORLD then that means,
there is no a reason for our concern?????
that our youth are unified for nihilism and that is not reason for concern??????
You know when Dr. King entered th SCLC there were a lot of GATEKEEPERS
old school tenured preachers,
who told him,
not now!!!!!!!!!,
slow down!!!!!!!
, told the masess that Dr. King was dangerous, and misrepresented hs message and purposefully took his word and spechs out of context to fool the flock Malcom met the same response,
from the tenured ministers inte Ntin when they saw he was able to turn around more crime oriented folks the thy were, after they had been there a long time.
Natinr 01-26-2008, 09:02 AM Nor do I see our liberation as MY EXCLUSIVE PET PROJECT, for my little hometown.
The posts I make are for the betterment of all Africans, and I question the purpose of taking
my statements out of context and insulting the intelligence of the viewers.

MUST COME FIRST,
we have no problem with unity,
we are just not NATIONALLY unified for our colective survival!!!!!!!!
El Hajj Malik Shabazz is more then a pictue of a man on his knees to me!
He is a guiding LIGHT,
to all of our misguided youth,
that if he could change;
then with all of our books,
with all of our scholars,
with all of our technology,
and with all of our effort,
and heart, we can ge them to change too!

I did not say I have no concern. I said Im not concerned with plans but implementation. I have stated before that I have lived and worked in Compton and created a community sevice program based in a Compton housing project.
My concern is that more folks take action instead of debating with me what needs to be done or challenging me on what I have for years been doing.
If I dont see you then I dont really know you. And from this point I will ignore you.
Peace.
