Black Woman
Why Black Woman? Why?
Why must I tell you how beautiful you are when the bathroom mirror reveals the essence of beauty confined in your countenance? The mirror, full length, depicts the beauty of God’s created masterpiece as the Master’s reached into clay to design you, ooooh so divine! The vanity! Yes, she reveals the bust of power and strength balancing character and commitment on shoulders so broad. Your back, arched, perspiring, spine tingling, inspiring, drawing from me the best that I’ve got reflected in the mirrors above our utopian paradise.
Why Black Woman? Why?
Can’t you see that you are the my sun that rises in the east and sets me out west taking me from dusk to dawn to midnight in one minute? Don’t you see that you are the flow of my stream, the gold flakes in my riverbed, the oxygen in my breeze that gives life to life, and lives to live inside of me? You are the mountain of my range, the sand of my desert, the moon that lights my darkest night, my stars, and the sun of my every day. The very wet of my water!
Why Black Woman? Ohhhh!
I tell you because you need to know that I know just how precious you are. So I do. I tell you. I caress you, bless you, regress with you into your past that builds our future. I edify, touch and cry at the softness of your love, as the doves, white, pure, and heavenly. Your feet, I kiss, because you stood, when I had fallen and walked a walk that only you could walk – walk on! I praise you because you are my glory. Because you are God’s gift to this broken but blessed Brother, who has received what only he could receive from the Giver of every good and perfect gift. A precious, beautiful, Black Woman.
