View Full Version : Black Poetry : Mirror, Mirror...

A man glanced into a mirror
And was
Not nearly as pleased by what he saw
As he would desired to have been.
Discontent, and so, enraged; he struck the mirror,
Breaking it into a million minute pieces.
But;
Apt to mood swings by nature, the man's demeanor changed
Swiftly and abruptly.
Now in a more sensible state he realized that
It had never been the mirrors fault.

You can't fault honesty,
You can't blame reality.
It seemed logical once he admitted this,
Where the true problem might be.

And so the man took the proper instrument (his own hands),
To his own being-
Smashing, crushing, breaking.
In seconds he was as fragmented as the mirror.
Ironically, not a bit more satisfied than when he had been
Whole.

the mirror only reflects what is present, the mirror doesn't lie, it just doesn't show what lies beneath what humanistic materials can't perceive.. :great:
