This is the movie brought to the Silver Screen by Oprah Winfrey am I right? If so, yes I saw this movie several years ago, for some reason, the line, touch me on the inside parts always stuck in my head..lol I guess that's why I am producing fruits like I am...lol

Beloved...yeah I remember when this came out, I saw it in the movie theater. And quite a few folks were sitting there like what in the *@!! is this? Yes, the movie did present some issues and scenes that you had to figure out, can't remember them exactly cause it has been a number of years since I've seen it. But that didn't bother me about the picture, it actually made me get into it more.

I loved this film. Yeah it seemed odd but it made you sit and wonder.

That was some freaky stuff in that movie, I definitely wouldn't watch it a second time, Oprah is kind of odd herself or, at least to me. I just seen that movie last year.

it was a strang movie and didn't do as well as Oprah hoped, but it was ok in my opinion.

Too long ago to remember the specifics...I just knew that I wanted my money back when it was over!

is a great movie. Most people won't realize it until they really understand the movie. It's DEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

I loved it.

The only major problem that some people could have had with the movie is that it doesn't do a very good job of unveiling the story quick enough in the beginning to give people a sense of what's going on. But, if you pay close attention, it becomes apparent that the girl is a ghost of the daughter she killed when she was younger.

Thandie Newton who's name also happened to mean "beloved", what a coincidence, but let me let you on a little secret. She needed a bikini wax, nude scenes like that should have been made illegal in Hollywood a long time ago. My dog wasn't that hairy.

Remember that story was set in the 19th century....bikini waxes weren't the norm at that time.

My dog wasn't that hairy.

She had to be that way for the movie, bruh. I knew that was a part of the movie that was going to throw people off.

Pan is right. She couldn't walk out with her pubic hair trimmed. Folks would have been like: "What's up with that?" They didn't have razors back then...or Gillette razorblades..or whatever women use to trim up down there.

I want to speak on the movie. But, I'd rather reserve my comments until people who haven't seen it in a minute see it again as a refresher or see it for the first time.

But, the movie is deep. I will say one thing. It dealt with the effects of slavery on the minds of young women with children. That's the focal point of the movie. I won't say anything further. :D

I agree with Monetary completely, it was dirt level deep...And there is a curtain part of her "motherhood" feelings and actions that I respect and share.

I agree as well. This movie was about a tragedy. A mother choosing to have control, making the ultimate sacrifice to prevent her babies from going into slavery.

im just like the rest of ya'll i wouldnt watch it a second time. the end of the money was just too much for me. the fact that her daughter coming back to make her feel guilty and the community casting the demon away. weird but that's the kind of story you notice Oprah likes. she seems to do better in slavery like movies. i bet she can really show case her true talent instead of playing rundown characters. this is just my opinion.

Yeah this is definately a weird tale. To better understand, I would suggest reading the book tho'. It's written by Toni Morrison. I read the book first then, I saw the Movie cuz ' sometimes they leave out certain details that may be vital to one' being able to understand the movie. Overall-I loved it.

I had to keep watching the movie to get an understanding. I believe I had saw it atleast 3x's but got discouraged, lol. Even though some of the movie had started to make since. But the part that had me sitting at the edge of my seat was when the ghost daughter was trying to explain where she had came from. It just fed a lil into my curiosity of life after death. It sounded like she was in hell. I want to watch it again because I have alot of questions and also, during my senior year of high school, we had the choice of reading that book or another. And I had tried to read it but had gotten confused easily. Now I want to try reading it again..lol

But Monetary, please talk about the movie once u get the chance!:blowkiss:
