no, i'm not a parent... and yes, you can shut this down if it has no relevance at all... but i'd just like to say, that even after all our people have been through ethnic parents have taught their children well!!! its a beautiful thing to see (where i live) afro sons and daughters showing respect and fellowship to those they care about... i was listening to this euro girl in my class shouting at her mom like: "shut up mom, it's none of your business!"
and i thought... if i said that to my mamma, i wouldn't even get to finish the shut up part!!! THREE CHEERS FOR BLACK PARENTING!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!! I PROMISE!!!

would never be heard in the black home ....mama didn't play dat !

Both of my parents always said that after they grew up, they had wished that their parents had been even "harder" on them. And after I grew up, I did too!
