Sounds interesting...I might have to travel to Philly to check it out!

they do a Yoruba thing early at the river and then party for the rest of the day.
sometimes it gets so crowded that it becomes a problem.
there is every kind of black person there.

I've been to the taste of Chicago...after that, nothing seems too crowded!

boy was it hot!
that direct sunlight was like a laser beam.

i noticed two things at the festival.

when they made the call to go down to the river and do the spiritual thing only some went.
the true believers, i guess.
most of the people stayed back and partied and ate and drank.
i would have expected all to go.

i noticed about a dozen interracial couples there during the day.
in each case it was a black female with a white person.
in Philly on that day there were no black men with any thing other than a black woman and their children.

I'd imagine they'd be too embarrased to bring them...I would be in that situation.

the sisters were not.
natural hair, dreads and a white boy grinning.

Oh Well....what can you do? This is no different than sisters who hook up with that lone white boy who attends an HBCU.
