He says He’s not pressuring me
But he is
So then I say
Baby I’m not quite
Not quite ready for that step
We need to take it slow
He insists he wants to make love to me
And I think
Why couldn’t he make love to my mind?
Is that even possible
Having sex with my intellectual capabilities
In that area I got skills
I can ride his mind into oblivion
With my wisdom
I’m sure he could reach his capitulation that way
By getting to know
Who’s really behind my Nubian skin
Cause I’m not ready
To have my…
Stomach protruding
Giving me stretch marks leading to my future
I’m not ready to find out that
You will leave me
With nine months of carrying our weight
With my now swollen feet
And thinning hair
My body chemistry messed up
Because I gave birth to our baby girl
With bags under my eyes
From not just pushing her out
But from waking up in the
Middle of the night
Singing:
Hush little baby don’t say a word
Mommas gonna buy you a mocking bird
Notice I say Mama not Papa….
Because Papa wasn’t here to wipe her tears away
So that she will want to run into his arms each day
With that big smile on her face
No trust me, I tell him
I’m not ready
And never will be
Because I Haven’t made love to your mind
Therefore, I don’t know you
I’m only doing this for my unborn child.

I really agree with you on the waiting. I myself am waiting for the right one, because I just feel deep down that the right one has to stimulate my mind first, then my body.
