Family, there has been a rumor that Hillary Clinton and Condoleeza Rice(spellcheck?) might be running for presidency in the next term. I was just wondering, would you or wouldn't you vote for a women and why?

you so krazee..lol

I too would like to see a woman in office. I probably would vote for them if the issues they plan to address are issues I'd like to see resolved or made better for this country.

 I don't know, it depends on the woman. As long as she doesn't vagina-fy the whole country then fine. And as long as she wasn't white. We need someone of color that will at least try and get something accomplished for someone other than the white population. I don't think any white politician has that on their mind........man/ woman.

My first thought is they put Condi up so that the democrats will put Hilary up. Have no other male candidate and get caught running a woman against a man. I hope they are prepared for the rope a dope.

This country wasn't ready for a woman on the ticket last time, nothing has changed.

If they both did run I would vote for Hillary. I don't like Condi. She reminds me of a Cobra snake. Looks like one, spits like one and she has no real leadership quailties. She sold the country out last trip and still doing so.
Her appointment would only secure the back workings of Repubs to continue their Terror Era.

Who has to come out first the Dems or the Repubs with their candidate? Since the president was sitting it was a given who the Dems faced last trip.

Please vote next time Indya. Always vote.

Thats how I see it going down too, if this is not a rumor. If one of the two women make it through, she will be running against a man. It a test to see where the hearts of american lies. Once they establish the statistics they will play on americans issues.

I think I would vote for Hiliary as opposed to Condi too. Ya know she'll be republican and my vote lay with the democrates.

I have no problem voting for a woman, but then again I am a woman so my opinion might be a bit biased. :P

Thats the irony of the whole thing Brother! Should we not vote because we know this, or should we vote anyway, to show that we will not be unaccountable for long?

Good question Purple...
Yet one that calls for much thought, but over all, my thoughts of Condi is ...
I think she been sniffing in the Bushes to long. I really don't think she would have our best interest at heart. (providing she has one)

That is a good question Purple,
I would normally vote Hillary over anybody and even though I really don't like Condolizza she is a black woman and just the thought of a black president and sista on top of that makes that decision hard. I'd be sweatin hard at the voting booth.

"Vagina-fy" the country? You're also the creator of the threads, "would you let a woman work on your car?" and "can a man rape his own wife?" What's up with the misogynist viewpoints?

Don't forget about "Would you marry/ date a woman that can't cook" and "Lifetime: Network for women.....your opinions".

I have started plenty of threads besides those. They are legitimate questions, and the way a woman runs the country is a legitimate concern. We now have a president that runs the country according to how he runs his household, so it is a concern that if a woman runs the country, they might tend to sway more to the feminine side instead of looking at the whole countries best interest. Lets not pretend that a lot of women would not make it a point to try and change laws to benefit women.

This sounds exactly like the arguments whites use to explain why they don't want a black president.

Well gempis, I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way simply because I'm saying what a lot of people are probably thinking. Matter of fact, I bet a lot of people are thinking a lot harsher thoughts than what I posted. I don't think women are inferior or less intellegent like many men/ women do. I don't think women are "too emotional" like other men/women think, because I think a woman's emotions and compassion would do a lot of good compared to a man's trigger happy approach. One thing I would worry about is women neglecting the needs and concerns of men, since it's already happening on certain levels now, and increasing. But hey, like I said, I'm sorry I sound white to you.

It's just extremely sad to me that black folk, the targets of extreme prejudice and hatred for centuries, often turn around and perpetuate those same things on others.

Right, and that's why we are having all of the problems that we do! The government sorely needs a woman's touch.
