Black Souls of Poetry….

Within the light it was giving birth
Old hymns plight of life…
Forth placed on paper
Molding in perfection
Going in the right direction
As floatation begins
Depth and profound calling
Black Souls of Poetry

Like a chain reaction
It went through her soul
And over poured into sorrow…
Releasing the pain
Reaction of the chain…
Breed us like animals
Picking the strongest and
Tearing the family apart…
Growing with out our roots
As her belly full but not all
Blackness of our Ancestors
For it was tainted
And they took her away
Before she could see her
Reaction of the chain…
And left her in the kitchen
Now we got to search and read..
To learn who we are
Who I am....

Do you hear the cry?
As we walk this walk
Trying to rebuild
It’s a milestone on high
Our souls flow deep like a river
Across the horizon within
Words and the meaning
Of all meanings…
Reaction of the chain…
We are the people of this land
Giving new meaning as we reach
Telling of history and our future
As our Ancestors left us
With knowledge
To release….and rebuild
The power we have inside
Releasing in a path of freedom
With blessing forth to come
Be still as it reaches your soul
Reaction of the chain…

Drifting on the Black River
Deep within the soul
As we under turn
For we shall climb the mountain
Reaction of the chain…
To fill the pail of sorrow
To become stronger…
On the knowledge
We learn and share
