View Full Version : Black Astrology : LIBRA THE SCALES...
Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac, which the Sun transits during the first month of autumn, from about September 23rd to about October 22nd. The symbol for this sign is The Scales; its polarity is positive; its element is air; its quality is cardinal; its ruling planet is Venus; and on the human anatomy Libra rules the kidneys, the adrenal glands, and the skin as an organ of the body.
The communicativeness of the element air combined with the activity of cardinality and the charm of the planet Venus conspire to give the Libran an engaging, sociable, and outgoing personality. The keyword for Libra is balance, and people born under this cardinal air sign feel incomplete without a partner. A psychologist would call them “people-oriented,” or “other-directed”; ordinary people would say they are very unselfish.
Librans are both blessed and cursed as a result of their inherent ability to see both sides of every question. Though this ability makes them valuable as mediators and peacemakers, it often means that they are indecisive and painfully slow in arriving at personal decisions.
Librans – who include not only Sun-sign Librans, but all in whose horoscopes the sign is emphasized – crave peace and harmony above all else. They will often stifle their own feelings and opinions if, indeed, they know what they are – in order to avoid an unpleasant scene. They hate ugliness and disorder, and can become physically ill if their surroundings do not meet their high standards of aesthetic refinement. They may be obsessively concerned with what other people think of them, and go to great lengths to make a good, or even a false impression.
Libran infants are famous for their winning smiles from a remarkably early age, but the demand beneath their overflowing congeniality is constant interaction. As children, Librans learn good manners and the act of sharing more easily than other children because of their need to be liked. If they have a behavior problem, it is that they are too good, too nice, and too willing to please. In later years they may find that they have given in to others so often that they have forgotten what they wanted themselves! Or even who they are! They may have to learn the courage and self-assertiveness that comes so naturally to Aries, Libra’s polar opposite and complementary sign.
The combination of the element air and the influence of Venus often gives the Libran a somewhat androgynous appeal that can be devastating. Although they need and attract partners, they are not particularly physical people, nor are they given to grand passions. They often marry young, and usually more than once. Surprisingly often this will be to another Libra, as if only in their own sign could they find the delicate balance they need, and only in someone just like them could they learn to love themselves.
Their other compatible signs are: Gemini Aquarius, Leo and Sagittarius; Taurus, Scorpio, Virgo and Pisces are neutral, although Taurus and Pisces are potentially better through the shared influence of Venus. Cancer and Capricorn way well be difficult, and with Aries, there polar opposite, there is both attraction and tension. In all cases, however, the success of the relationship will depend upon the interaction between the horoscopes of the individuals, and their willingness to compromise (which, in the sign Libra, is very strong).
As the sign of justice, Libra has a natural affinity for the law; but their ability to anticipate others’ reactions makes them excel in the military as well. Their love for music, balance and beauty (the gift of Venus), combined with their understanding of form and structure (the gift of Saturn) gives them a natural inclination toward such fields as literature, songwriting, and the visual arts. Saturn, the planet of discipline, is exalted in Libra, the sign of balance.
The sign is especially associated with architecture, sculpture, drafting, art, design, and interior decorating; crafts such as dressmaking, jewelry-making and weaving; and all fields concerned with the beautification of people and their surroundings. The Libra love of justice and interest in law may draw them into politics – despite their tender sensibilities – if other indications in the horoscope point in that direction.
The colors of Libra are dark green and blue; its birthstones are the emerald and the opal; and its day of the week is Friday, which is ruled by Venus.
The following are some prominent African-Americans who were born under the sign Libra:
India Arie, Art Blakey, Toni Braxton, Shirley Caesar, Ray Charles, Johnnie Cochran, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Richard Claxton Gregory, Bryant Gumbel, Moses Gunn, Donny Hathaway, Jesse Jackson, Beverly Johnson, Calvin Lockhart, Les McCann, Marilyn McCoo, Wynton Marsalis, Winnie Mandela, Johnny Mathis, Thelonius Monk, Elijah Muhammad, William Raspberry, Patrice Rushen, Al Sharpton, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Congressman Alan Wheat and David Winfield...
Librans may have a tendency to stay in an unhappy relationship simply because they can't tolerate the discord that arises when they try to put an end to the situation. Although they may be miserable, they will put up with it in order to avoid the emotional turmoil imminent upon the ending of the association...
One explanation for Libra's appreciation of beauty and harmony is found in its planetary ruler, the gracious Venus, queen of all things lovely and pleasurable...
Venus is the Goddess of Love, and so relationships come easily to Libra - and Libra sees them everywhere. Not only in the obvious realms of human romance and marriage, but in the subtle relationship between musical notes and the balance between colors and shapes in a piece of artwork...
Balance in color and shape produces beauty; balance in music produces harmony; and balance in social affairs produces justice. The Libra individual is keenly aware of the importance of balance in every aspect of life, and is pained when things are out of harmony. Like The Scales that are its symbol, the Libra native moves through life attempting to put things "right."
Although Gemini has a reputation for being talkative, Librans can be quite talkative also, although for different reasons. For Libra, relationships are their reason for living, and they consider any moment not spent relating as wasted time...
Naturally, being an air sign, Libra's preferred method of feeling connected with others is through conversation; in the exchange of ideas and opinions, Libra is convinced it has touched the soul of another. Their goal is not to dominate the conversation, but merely to keep it going...indefinitely. In fact, the average Libran is so eager to maintain the conversation that he doesn't care what the subject is, and will happily follow the other person's lead in terms of content...
However, don't try to turn a deaf ear. Libra will sense your disinterest, interpret it as a withdrawal from the relationship, and deftly attempt to recapture your involvement by asking questions to draw you back in...
Some of the greatest musical geniuses of our time were born under the sign Libra. Consider: Thelonious Monk (10/10/'17), Dizzy Gillespie (10/21/'17), Art Blakey (10/11/'19), John Coltrane (9/23/'26), Ray Charles (9/23/'30), Les McCann (9/23/'35), and Wynton Marsalis (10/19/'61)...
And three very famous African-American civil rights activists are Librans...Jesse Jackson (10/8/'41), Al Sharpton (10/3/'54), and Johnnie Cochran (10/3/'37)...who happen to share the same birthdate!
Librans on the Internet
The Libra native, being ruled by Venus, the planet of love, will always be dipping into chatrooms to widen his/her impartial outlook on the world - and perhaps just maybe meet a romantic interest, if the Libran does not currently have that aspect of his/her life fulfilled...
Nobody knows that new friends can be made here (i.e., the Internet) better than Libra does. And this sign's insatiable desire to be liked by everyone knows just what to do if opposition stands in the way of peace and harmony in a chat - a click of the mouse and the Libran is out!
The Libran will visit sites that are refined as well as artistic. They love beautiful music, literature and good theater, and listening to a live orchestra without leaving home is becoming easier for Librans to do on the Internet.
Also, Librans love to hear beautiful voices, and to be witty and charming, using their expressive eyes to enhance the conservation. So chatrooms on the Internet could leave the Libra native feeling a bit unsatisfied. Good manners do not always prevail in cyberspace.
Libra is a cardinal air sign...a doer - a social activist, if you will. Any website that will assist Libra in doing something well will always be appreciated, especially if it is beautifully designed and aesthetically appealing. The following websites will appeal to the Libra personality:

I tend to absolutely agree with this. I have a friend and a cousin who both stayed in abusive relationships, seeming to care about their mate more than themselves.
It seems they may be good communicators, but not when it involves dialogue in their own relationships. Talk about a timebomb. I think that is also a problem. Not talking about and handling situations until their explosion. And believe me, it will come!
Very understanding and giving. Will sometimes gives alot more of themselves than what they are receiving.
Now again, what can you tell me about the cusp of Libra with Virgo tendencies.
{{{{I hope you don't mind all the questions. I'm just finding alot of this information to be on the mark.}}}}
The Cusp of Virgo and Libra...
It is possible for those born on the cusp of Virgo and Libra to be rather imbalanced - and to regard the trivial as being of extreme importance, but that is rare. Usually, this native has a very harmonious nature, relating all elements in his/her life through a natural analytical ability. Others often seek their advice in making decisions.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, and Libra is ruled by Venus; so this native will easily communicate sympathy and emotions. He/she will inevitably be someone others will seek out both as a counselor in times of trouble and as an emotional companion. This person can help people to feel unity both with other individuals and with the Universe...
The element of Virgo is mutable earth; that of Libra is cardinal air. In this combination the cardinality will dominate, providing leadership ability in communication and an intellectual bent - an outgoing personality with firmly established goals and purposes. Underlying this will be adaptability, diplomacy, and the ability to describe those goals and purposes so as to be clearly understood. There is also the capacity to apply intellectual aims to material ends.
Thus if the individual born on the cusp of Virgo and Libra can avoid becoming caught up in trivia, he/she will be a welcomed friend and counselor, a happy and creative lover, and an outgoing and successful individual who can communicate his/her goals clearly - and see them through to a fine conclusion...

Sup, bruh? Hook me up. I'm on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio. What's the deal?
Monetary:
You are a Libra with the Moon in Pisces, and Scorpio is your rising sign. You were born on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio, and here is what that means:
Being born on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio, it is possible for you to fall prey to an unbalanced, deep suspicion of others that amounts to paranoia; but that is unusual. Most people born on this cusp instead enjoy an intense knowledge of the harmonious relationships of existence.
Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, and Scorpio is ruled by Mars, the planet of war - two opposing principles indeed. If you can successfully reconcile these opposing qualities in your personality, you will achieve the ability to judge those difficult situations where the only way to achieve harmony is to eliminate that which is out of tune and renew with that which is in sympathy with the whole.
The element of Libra is cardinal air; that of Scorpio is fixed water. There is bound to be some opposition between the cardinal desire to create new goals, and the fixed resistance to change, but air and water actually work well together. Air provides intellect and communicative ability; while water tempers any excessive tendencies with prudence, foresight and sympathy. Lack of vitality will be made up for by the combination of thought and sensitivity.
In conclusion, you must avoid paranoid tendencies and learn to balance passivity and aggressiveness. Once you do this, you will achieve inner harmony, innate judgment, intellectual and communicative ability, foresight and sensitivity. Through your own efforts you will become a stronger person...
Monetary 03-25-2003, 11:55 AM Thanks...got it. dapz.
NNQueen 05-25-2003, 10:51 AM Oh wow, Aqil...I'm just seeing this. Let me see, I need to do some homework. You need my birth date, time and location? I'll pm that to you as soon as I get the time. :)
Queen:
The Moon was in the mutable water sign Pisces at the time of your birth, thus you are attracted to whatever appears to your emotions and feelings – in music, literature or poetry. Emotion is a major factor in all your activities. You are quiet, retiring, amiable, and sympathetic to the underdog. You are gentle, at times easy-going, unworldly and dreamy. You change your mind often; thus you can be undependable, unpredictable, easily discouraged, and depressed.
Pisces is the most emotional of the water signs, thus you are very responsive to the depths of human experience...and you have understanding and affection for all people. You are emotionally naive, and you continually overlook other people's shortcomings and deficiencies. At one time or another, hospitals, prisons or institutions of some kind will play an important role in your life.
You do not like to face facts coldly and objectively, and your relationships will suffer because your feelings are so sensitive. At times you may lack humor and common sense, and you will withdraw into seclusion to protect yourself emotionally. Your senses can deceive you because of your overdeveloped romanticism and optimism. You can be easily hurt, however, and you may even develop a persecution complex. Because you want to believe the best about everything, truth and reality deeply affect you.
This is the most psychic position of the Moon, yet there may be sorrow and many obstacles in reaching your goals. You need to feel sheltered and loved, and you like beauty, harmony and comfort around you because you suffer in adverse environments. You have a flair for music, composing or writing, because this lunar position confers musical, poetic, and artistic talent. Whatever you do, it is emotional and romantic, and your creative output is fluid, prodigious and imaginative.
This lunar position often adds a silent magnetism that attracts members of the opposite sex. However, you may marry late. You must also understand that emotional excess could bring about health problems...
NNQueen 06-07-2003, 10:40 PM Aqil, thank you. I read this with my mouth hanging open. It's amazing how closely this describes my personality. Whew...what a mixture. :)
Peace
Your welcome, Queen...there is much, much more...I need your time and place of birth. Here is the delineation of your Sun-Moon polarity:
You were born with the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Pisces. This astrological combination indicates some restlessness of character, yet there is an inclination to be industrious in various areas of life. If the Moon is favorably aspected in your horoscope, this polarity confers the ability to absorb knowledge without any great effort. It also bestows an excellent memory, thus people born with the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Pisces become veritable walking encyclopedias...
You are very musical and poetical, and due to your strong emotional nature you were probably attracted to interpretive or rhythmic dancing in your formative years...
The Sun in Libra-Moon in Pisces personality also indicates a lack of real driving power. Instead of plunging into the battle of competitive life, you would rather use your talents indulging in creative economics...
In matters pertaining to your health, this Sun-Moon polarity indicates the tendency to corpulence in your waning years. It also indicates anemia and dropsical conditions, in addition to problems with the skin, kidneys and feet. Total abstinence from all animal flesh as food is seriously recommended...
Queen:
Because Libra is a cardinal air sign, you are concerned with the present and will initiate activities, but you usually seek the cooperation of others rather than continuing alone. Librans have a special need for companionship in order to be fulfilled. However, you need to maintain your own individuality within the framework of your relationships. Marriage and relationships of all kinds are of primary importance to those born under the sign of balance and peace...
Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, which gives you charm and grace in expression, combined with desire for popularity and the approval of others. The highly evolved individual born under this sign will never compromise principle in order to gain approbation, because experience has taught him/her that ultimate humiliation is the result of such expediency...
Being ruled by the planet of love, you rarely express anger, but when you do, it’s as though a tornado has gone through a room – you leave nothing unsaid, absolutely nothing. You will tell someone exactly what they said fifty years ago, and under what circumstances they said it! Yet, like the tornado, your anger soon spends itself, leaving you shaken and ill.
Since Libra is an air sign, those born under it are intellectual and actively seek knowledge, new ideas, and mental stimulation. Thus you are especially adept at analyzing what is occurring in the society around you. All matters pertaining to psychology and/or human relationships are of deep interest to you. For this reason you would make an excellent counselor. You often seek to help people with their personal problems, and you frequently play the role of peacemaker. Your basic nature is conciliatory, therefore you function best as a mediator...
Typical Libran activities involve social relations and contact with the public. These can include the legal profession, public relations, art, the performing arts, music, and partnerships that require close cooperation. Librans have a strong sense of justice and fair play, arising from the planet Saturn’s exaltation in this sign. Thus you demand that your partners work as hard as you do...
Because of this strong Saturn influence, the appeal for hard work is inherent, and will manifest greatly after you are 29 years of age. In astrological parlance the 29th and 30th year of birth is called a “Saturn Return,” because it takes this planet 29 years to make one complete revolution around the Sun...(you will experience another Saturn return in about five years...)
The key phrase for Libra is, “I balance.”
NNQueen 06-08-2003, 09:07 AM Aqil...wow...I will give you time and place of birth...this is a fascinating likeness. How can this be so accurate. The cosmic forces are extraordinary.
I think that people should be able to tell from the way that I write, how close this expresses the way I am. Can you pick up on it, Aqil?
Thank you!
:)
Yes, Your Royal Highness... :) And you're quite welcome...
liquyd 06-29-2003, 02:30 AM Greetings!
I am a Pisces woman who is involved in a relatively new frienship with a Libran man. We are deeply attracted to each other and have music and creativity in common. We have been spending more time together, although taking our time in the budding friendship (thanks mainly to his Libran need for occasional space, and my Piscean way of understanding this without being told). I already know the general astrological forecast for this coupling in a romantic sense, and it doesn't seem good. I'm almost scared to spend TOO much time with him because we may find that we actually can't stand each other at all! Any positive outlook for Pisces/Libra my astrology book may have missed?
It might be that your mate has a Pisces Moon or Pisces rising...if he has Virgo rising then Pisces would be his natural mate...
OR
You might have the Moon in Libra or Libra rising...if you have Aries rising, then Libra would be your natural mate...
(The word “horoscope” is derived from the Greek word “hora,” meaning hour, and “scope”...meaning to view...i.e., a view of the Heavens for a certain hour as measured by the longitude of the Sun. In theory a horoscope contains what is virtually an infinite number of factors. The total has been calculated at 539,370,750 + 13 zeros!)
hi, im a libra who wants to know how a relationaship would be with a gemini and a pieces with my sign
SwtT:
Both Libra and Gemini are air signs, and as such a relationship with a Gemini would be compatible. Pisces is a water sign, and air and water are incompatible elements, which is why air and water causes storms...
whoa....you got it right on point cuz right now there are definatley some storms
The abbreviation for the word “pound” (lb.) is derived from the Latin word “libra,” which was the ancient Roman pound-weight. This is where the British got their pound. The word “libra” also means a pair of scales, or balance in the Latin language. Keep this in mind next time you see the abbreviations for the words “pint” and “quart,” where the first and last letter of these words designate their abbreviations...

Can you tell me a little about the cusp of Libra/Scorpio. I thank you in advance. I actually think that I am more Libra than Scorpio, however, years ago October 22 used to be Scorpio but now it is Libra.

Thank you in advance,
Prettylocs1022
You are a Libra born on the cusp of Scorpio, Prettylocs, and your Moon is in Gemini. Your s/o is a Taurus with the Moon in Virgo. Venus, the planet of love, rules both Libra and Taurus, thus there is compatibility in the relationship...both of you like nice things, and since Taurus is the money sign of the zodiac, there will be no problems here...:) However, Libra is an air sign, and Taurus is an earth sign...air and earth are incompatible elements, which means that the relationship will be somewhat rocky at times...
In addition, your Moon is in Gemini, and his Moon is in Virgo. The Moon rules the personality, and the aforementioned is also applicable here. Gemini is an air sign...Virgo is an earth sign, which means that your personalities - although they don't clash - are at variance, e.g., differences of opinion; a difference between what is expected and what actually occurs, etc. However, there is compatibility here also.Gemini is an intellectual air sign...Virgo is an intellectual earth sign...so things intellectual appeal to both of you.
I have elucidated on two of the power-points in your horoscope. The third power-point is your Ascendant, or rising sign, which could be in any one of the twelve signs of the zodiac. However, I would need the time and place of birth to determine this...

mcb00 09-25-2005, 04:01 PM Hello Aqil,
Your postiings are very detailed and astounding. I must confess that I never read someone as specific and seemingly accurate in astrology.
I'm curious to know how you learned all this...do you also have a private practice?
Also, talking about Libra birthdays, I'm a Libra born on Oct 15, 1976 at about 2:30 AM. I am often told Librans are lazy and mild-tempered, but I never saw that in myself...
Can you tell me anything about my approach to relationships and who might be compatible with me?
Thanks a bunch! God bless u! :bellyd:
Hello Aqil,
Your postings are very detailed and astounding. I must confess that I never read someone as specific and seemingly accurate in astrology.Peace my sister, and thank you...
I'm curious to know how you learned all this...Through years of intense research and study, mcb00...and asking God for knowledge, wisdom and overstanding when studying His kingdom...
...do you also have a private practice?No I don't.
Also, talking about Libra birthdays, I'm a Libra born on Oct 15, 1976 at about 2:30 AM. I am often told Librans are lazy and mild-tempered, but I never saw that in myself...You have the Moon in Cancer...and perhaps Virgo is your rising sign. And laziness is not a Libran trait...
Can you tell me anything about my approach to relationships and who might be compatible with me?Yes...see my thread titled "Libra and Sexual Compatibility."
Thanks a bunch! God bless u!You're quite welcome, mcb00...and may He continue to bless you too!
All the air signs (Gemini and Aquarius are the other two) are concerned with relationships. Gemini is the sign of siblings, Aquarius is the sign of friends, and Libra is the sign of husbands and wives...
mcb00 09-26-2005, 05:32 PM Thank you Aqil!
I did not understand your message at the other thread (the one about Libran sexuality) at first :)
I am still reading what you posted. It's interesting because I often read that Libra is compatible with the other air signs...but they are too cold for someone as "needy" of attention and affection as Libra...I think.
I actually have Leo rising (you almost got it right). I also have both Venus and Mars in Scorpio. I read somwhere that whoever has that combination is very attractive to the opposite sex. Is that right? :lift:
May God keep your gift and help you use it for the best of the community.
mcb00 09-29-2005, 08:16 AM Hello Aqil,
Someone recently told me that I have a "badly affected moon" and that is affecting my health and life.
Can you please tell me what that means?
Thanks so much!
I also have both Venus and Mars in Scorpio. I read somwhere that whoever has that combination is very attractive to the opposite sex. Is that right? No doubt...because Scorpio is the sex-sign of the zodiac, and you have the planet of love and the planet of war in the sign of sex! In astrology Venus represents the responsive side of your romantic soul, your social self, and your need and capacity to form relationships. Mars represents your outward sexual expression, your capacity for aggression and your ability to take assertive action. Planetary conjunctions represent a union, a blending of the qualities and interests the individual planets represent separately. The energies and assets of planets in conjunction will operate as one unit, like inseparable Siamese twins...and Scorpio is an energy that promotes closure and recycling...
Someone recently told me that I have a "badly affected moon" and that is affecting my health and life. Can you please tell me what that means? The correct term is "afflicted," not "affected." A celestial body (in your case, the Moon) that receives adverse aspects from other celestial bodies is said to be "afflicted" in astrology. A planet that receives many difficult aspects and few harmonious ones is said to be "heavily afflicted." An afflicted Moon in a horoscope is associated with hypertension and overreaction or difficulty getting in touch with one's feelings and inability to respond...
mcb00 09-29-2005, 02:15 PM Thanks Aqil! You're awesome :)
I was wondering if there are any ways to "fix" an afflicted moon. My moon is in Cancer and I've been told that my emotional problems may be due to that...I've heard that in Vedic Astrology pearls are used to fix that...
Do you know anything about that?
All the best! :car:
Your natal Moon in Cancer squares (90-degree aspect, considered adverse) Mercury and Pluto in Libra and trines (120-degree aspect, considered favorable) Mars and Uranus in Scorpio. Thus your natal Moon is not afflicted. In your horoscope 4 celestial bodies are in the air signs; 4 are in the water signs, and 2 are in the fire signs, and you have a fire sign on your Ascendant. There were no celestial bodies in the earth signs at the time of your birth, which indicates that for the most part your feet are not on the ground. It also indicates that you have trouble holding on to money - because it doesn't mean much. You dream the impossible dream but you rarely put these dreams to practical use. And most difficult of all, you find it hard to differentiate between that which really matters ("matter" is quite earthy and practical) and that which is unimportant and passing. You make mountains out of molehills, and you rarely have time to get right down to the "nitty-gritty."
mcb00 10-06-2005, 12:46 PM Thank you so much Aqil. I appreciate the insight.
I'm surprised I was told I had an affilcted moon...I would have to agree that I tend to overspend and I'm not very concerned with practical matters. I don't think that I don't appreciate the value of things though. Also, it is not so much that I don't know the difference between what matters and what doesn't. Rather, everything matters to me!
I wish you well...

In honor of Jesse's 64th birthday:
THE HOROSCOPE OF JESSE JACKSON
Jesse Louis Jackson was born on Wednesday, October 8, 1941, at 3:23pm (EST), in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born with the Sun in Libra, the Moon in Taurus, and his time of birth gives him Aquarius rising. In other words, Jesse Jackson is a Libra with a Taurus personality who sees the world through the eyes of an Aquarian.
With the Sun in Libra Jesse is balanced and moderate, with a sense of proportion, harmony, and an acute appreciation of shades of meaning. His basic character is uncommitted, congenial, peaceful, and indecisive. Qualities of friendliness abound, as well as courteousness, sociability, mildness and kindness. He possesses a mind with a gift for comparisons, standards, and harmony. As a husband and father he is refined, well disposed and understanding. He is politically moderate - between the two extremes - fair, conciliatory, and enduring.
Jesse's Moon in Taurus indicates that his emotions tend to be steady and placid. This lunar position is very strong because the Moon is exalted in Taurus. It brings out its reflective and steady side, which means that Jesse will stick to his ideals and purposes no matter how great the odds. He is blindly faithful, sentimental, and very affectionate. His reactions to sense impressions are slow but strong, and he possesses a very accurate memory. He will ponder over an action for a long time, using premises, ethics and ideals, and he assimilates and acts upon information in a slow, steady manner. It is difficult for him to change his mind, and he resents any interference once he has reached a decision. He is a determined person, with well-developed intuition and sound judgment, and he desires success in whatever endeavor he commits himself to.
With Aquarius rising Jesse is electric, magnetic, inspirational, impressionistic, studious and intuitive. He always appears quite self-confident, and exudes an air of "if you like me, fine - if you don't, that's fine too." He enjoys being different, and takes great pride in his distinct individualism. He has strong powers of concentration, deep feelings, and a great love of beauty in the form of art, music, and nature. Jesse is a seeker of truth (Aquarius is the sign of truth), but he also has a desire to put his knowledge of truth to work in practical ways.
Jesse's Libra Sun occupies the 8th house in his horoscope. This is a very political placement, because he is able to attract the support of other people. His Taurus Moon is part of a powerful triple-conjunction stellium that includes Saturn and Uranus (his life ruler), all within 5º of orb! This unusual stellium occupies the 3rd house of communications. Venus, his ruling planet, is in Scorpio and occupies the 9th house of the higher mind and religion. It forms a powerful opposition to the Taurus stellium in the 3rd house. Mercury, the planet of communications, is also in Scorpio and the 9th house. Mars, the planet of dynamic energy, is dignified in Aries and tenants the 2nd house of money and material possessions, opposing his Libra Sun.
Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, is in Gemini and occupies the 4th house of the home and family. Jupiter is accidentally exalted (meaning its influences are strong) in the 4th house, and is part of a grand trine in the air signs, which includes his Libra Sun and Aquarius Ascendant. A grand trine in the air signs indicates intellectual superiority. Jesse has six planets in the fixed (i.e., stubborn) signs and four planets in the earth signs, which means that at times he displays characteristics that are strongly Taurus in nature (Taurus is a fixed earth sign). In other words, Jesse is a Taurus underneath.
Although Jackson is a Libra with Aquarius rising (both air signs), the earth sign Taurus and the water sign Scorpio are very prominent in his horoscope. He is a Taurus underneath, having the Moon, Saturn and Uranus in this sign closely conjoined in the 3rd house of communications. Many planets in Taurus gives an individual a distinct voice and confers great oratorical powers. Jesse possesses a very distinct voice and is a superb orator, being very dynamic and articulate in his speech. He is also a very skilled communicator.
The Scorpio influence is very prominent in Jesse's horoscope, because the Sun occupies the 8th house, which is ruled by Scorpio on the natural zodiac. Venus is in Scorpio, within 6º of an exact conjunction to the Midheaven (the highest point in the horoscope), indicating that Jesse is innately goal-oriented. Mercury, the planet of the mind, is also in Scorpio, and Scorpio is the sign on the cusp of the 9th house of the higher mind, religion, philosophy, and long journeys. This powerful Scorpio influence shows that in addition to being a natural mediator and a true prince of peace, Jesse Jackson is persistent and a very tough fighter - and he usually gets what he wants.
With Mercury and Venus in the 9th house of religion, and Mars, the planetary ruler of the 9th house dignified in Aries, Jesse Jackson is a deeply religious man with an enduring faith in God. He stands tall and proud; proud of his African heritage, and proud of his role as one of this this country's most influential African-American leader. "KEEP HOPE ALIVE!" he exhorts, and like the gold-burning fires of Elijah's chariot, his powerful oratory streaks across the sky and lights up the poor, the downtrodden, and young people seeking hope and direction...
Sha'iyn 07-26-2007, 12:07 PM Brother of the Zodiacus
Where are you?
I have an important question about me and my parent's signs.
I as born 9-23, my mother was born 9-24, my father was born 10-06, my aunt was born 9-23, my niece was born 9-25, my son was born 02-09.
So, I am a Virgo-Libra cusp, any significance?
I recognize a lot of these traits in my character.
And i'm studying Egipt and Afriqa. So, things are opening up to me lke never before. It's almost scary.
Sha'iyn 08-09-2007, 02:49 PM The Cusp of Virgo and Libra...
Please explain "...being caught up in trivia." which seems to be natural to a Virgo-Libra cusp i.e. september 23rd '79 hint-hint
KWABENA 09-23-2009, 12:37 AM Peace and Blessings, Librans!
I just wanted to take the time to inform my Venus-ruled social buddies (Libras) and others around the world that the Sun is currently in Libra at 0° 18' at the time of this post.
Having said that, I would like to wish all of you Libras a Happy Earth-B-day in advance. I may not be around on the particular day of your B-day, so I wanted to ensure I greeted you before your time comes.
I do hope that you enjoy your respective Day to the fullest, and enjoy being a year wiser!
