Let me give you the facts. The White Man originated from a curse that was placed on Ham's Fourth Son Canaan <Aramaic Meaning Lowlander> Genesis 9:18 the Aramic/Hebrew word used for curse in Genesis 9:25 is the root word Awrar which means to curse, curse Be He Canaan was cursed because his father Ham looked upon his father's Noah's nakedness. And it means shameful, or nakedness as opposed to the word Ayrom <Ay-rome> under the Strong's Hebrew Lexicon #05903 which is simply used for Nakedness or Bareness. Therefore, this could read "Ham looked upon his father's shame and told his two brothers without. Since Ham just had an argument with this wife Haliyma and was in a weak state. It made it easy for the devil <Azaazil> to take over him. Used him, and possess him. So while in his father's tent, Ham mocked his father's Nakedness or as the Hebrew states Shame - Genesis 9:22 common for them to get confused between nakedness Ervah Shameful and nakedness Ayrom Bareness. The King James Version of the Bible or the newer version of the Bible that are even worse transition taking you further and further from the original meaning of the Words. Now reading this verse without knowing the Hebrew Language one would believe that Noah's younger son is Ham. However, when you look at the Hebrew word for younger, the word there is Qaton Strong's Hebrew Lexicon #06996 and means Lesser. As in less in quality unimportant, insignificant. And doesn't mean younger as in age. The same Hebrew word is used in Genesis 1:16 and we see in that verse the Hebrews word being used is also Qaton and means Lesser. As in less in quality or lesser light. It does not mean in Age or Younger as in the word Tsawowr Strong's Hebrew Lexicon #06810 which means youngest, little or small one. Why am I pointing this out to you? To show you how easy it is to misinterpret the verse is actually saying if you don't take the time to study the Original Languages that the Scripture were written in. Now Ham was not Noah's youngest son because the order in Genesis 5:32 where Noah's sons are first mentioned states: and Noah was five hundred years old; and Noah begat Shem, Ham and Japheth in that order. That would make Japheth the youngest one of the three sons because, Not Ham. The problem comes in because those who cannot translate the Hebrew can't see Genesis 9:24 ....This is not talking about Young in Age and most definitely is not talking about Ham, which has been misused for decades by Gentitles Caucasians who wish to convince you that the Hamites were cursed to become black - skinned because there was no way of getting around the fact that Ham became the Father of Egipt. But not merely Egipt because the Bible calls Egipt Mizraim. Ham is Sudan. A word meaning Black or the two blacks and includes all of North Central Africa which can bee seen on any Map of Africa today. There were many great Empire stretch from Egipt to Morocco, all the way down to Ethiopia and around which back then also included Arabia And the Sinil Peninsula. Although the origins of Judaism in Ethiopia remain a mystery, it is likely that the community's roots extend 2500 years. Some Beta Israel believe that they are descendants of Menelik, according to legend, the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Others believe the Beta Israel to be the tribe of Dan, one of the ten lost tribes of Israel. Still others trace the group's history to the biblical parting of the Red Sea, holding that the Jews of Ethiopia were those who did not cross in time and thus escaped from Egypt by heading south. When the kingdom of Aksum adopted Christianityas its official religion during the fourth century C.E., however, the Beta Israel were forced to relocate to the mountainous region around Lake Tana. Over the centuries the Beta Israel, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, ruled a powerful state in what is today Ethiopia. Beginning around 1400, however, the Solomonic Dynasty of Ethiopia gradually subdued this Jewish people. During the seventeenth century the Ethiopian emperor finally defeated the Jewish state and seized the people's lands. Most Beta Israel gradually gave up their Agaw language and adopted the Tigrinya or Amhara language of their neighbors.

The situation of the Beta Israel worsened toward the end of the nineteenth century. By 1900 only 60,000 to 70,000 remained; the rest had fallen victim to famine or disease or been forcibly converted to Christianity. In 1923 Dr. Jacques Faitlovitch, a Polish-born Jew, took up their cause. He put the Beta Israel in contact with Jewish communities around the world, opened a school in Addis Ababa for them, and sent several to Jewish schools in Europe. Although Faitlovitch's activity came to a halt during the Italian occupation of Ethiopia, for the first time in modern history the Beta Israel had some contact with other Jews. Since Ethiopia's liberation in 1941 the Jews in Ethiopia have theoretically had equal rights under the law. However, the community continued to face persecution and discrimination and, along with many other Ethiopian groups, suffered a great deal under the repressive regime of Haile Mariam Mengistu.

Religiously, the Beta Israel have always identified themselves as exiles from the land of Israel and as believers in the faith of Moses. For almost 2000 years they were completely isolated from the rest of the Jewish world. They never learned of the Talmud, the codification of Judaism's oral law, or of any of the post-biblical traditions, such as the holiday of Hanukkah. So isolated were they from the rest of the Jewish world that many did not know that other Jews still existed, nor that the majority of them were white.

The religious life of the Beta Israel is based on the Torah (the first five books of the Bible), its oral interpretations as passed down from generation to generation, and the community's own holy writings. Some Beta Israel customs are comparable to Jewish practices based on oral law and rabbinical literature; others resemble ancient customs practiced by Jews during the biblical and Talmudic periods. Beta Israel villages, usually set apart from neighboring Christian villages, were always situated near a body of water for ritual purposes of immersion and purification. Religious life revolved around the synagogue (mesgid or beit makdas).

The community has always kept strictly to the kosher diet and has observed the Saturday Sabbath as a day of rest. The Beta Israel celebrate all the festivals mentioned in the Torah in addition to those of their own tradition. The timing of holidays is determined by a religious lunar calendar exclusive to the Beta Israel. A traditional priesthood (the Kohanim) has led the community's religious life, and the priesthood has gained increasing importance during the upheavals of the twentieth century as the repository of the group's traditions. Because the Beta Israel have transmitted rituals orally, the expertise of the priests has been a critical element in maintaining the liturgical cycle.

Before 1977 all but a handful of Beta Israel lived in Ethiopia. In 1984 and 1991, however, the Israeli government arranged two dramatic airlifts (Operation Moses and Operation Solomon, respectively) to bring thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel. Today more than 60,000 Beta Israel live in the state of Israel, while only a few thousand remain in Ethiopia, concentrated in the capital of Addis Ababa.

The migration to Israel brought difficulties for the Ethiopian community. The abrupt move from the rural villages of Ethiopia to the very white, Westernized, and mostly urban society of Israel proved an extreme and disorienting transition for many. Before coming to Israel few Beta Israel knew any Hebrew. Even their Bible is written in Ge'ez, a precursor to the modern languages of north-central Ethiopia, Amharic and Tigrinya. While free from the religious persecution they faced in Ethiopia, the Beta Israel now face racism and a daily struggle for integration in Israel. This struggle was exacerbated in January 1997, when it was discovered that the Israeli government was automatically discarding blood donated by Ethiopian Jews out of a fear of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). The discovery of this racist policy led to a protest of over 15,000 Ethiopian Jews in Jerusalem and drew widespread publicity.

Most Ethiopian Jews in Israel now live in very poor, segregated towns, with unemployment running well above the national average. More surprisingly, the Beta Israel have faced constant challenges to the authenticity of their Jewishness. On the more positive side, the community enjoys greater educational opportunities than ever before in its history, and several hundred Ethiopian Jews are enrolled in colleges and graduate programs in Israel.

Secondly, on facial reconstruction, which is a marriage of forensic archeology and art (sculpting), there are several things you cannot rediscover, with this rendering process. Some of these are lip thickness, skin color, eye color and hair color or hair texture. These things are portrayed based on artistic license and/or pseudo-scientific assumptions (usually prejudice in this case) when it comes to archeology.

I’m sure inhabitants of the northeastern African country of Ancient Palestine (Omri) were Africoids, but that facial reconstruction, of what the historical Jesus may have looked like, was done safely to appeal to and be accepted by the more liberal white scientific community and that’s why it doesn’t look like some of the Black Jews who are still practicing ancient Judaism to-this-very-day such as the Falashi (Beta Israel) or the Lemba of southern Africa.

I looked up the Curse of Canaan. From what I read it said Canaan was Ham's son and he was of mixed race, white and black.

Since the people in that area of the world were variations of skin color how is the curse on the white man?

We're talking about a period of time 5,000 years ago. We don't really even know if the things in the bible are accurate. Love your neighbor, love yourself and try to be the best person you can.

I didn’t digress into the historical analysis of the validity of the Jesus story, because I was responding to the original post in the context in which the question was asked i.e., “Was Jesus White?” I think this question is asking a broader question about the ethnicity of the people who occupied the Levant roughly 2000 years ago, be we call them Palestinians, Canaanites, Egyptian colonist, Hebrews or Jews.

I believe this is an important question because it deals with how race played an important part in the religio-historical politics of the world and how it still affects international and Middle Eastern social and political issues today.

I'm asking this question because I don't know it.

I looked up the Curse of Canaan. From what I read it said Canaan was Ham's son and he was of mixed race, white and black.

Since the people in that area of the world were variations of skin color how is the curse on the white man?

Since I don't hate white people I find it hard to believe that this curse was what caused the white race. From what I read the curse was on Canaans decendents not a race of people.

It is my humbled assertion that the single most devastating blow the to the melanized people of the world is the theft of the identity of Jesus the Christ.
That Jesus was African/Hebrew has been so well documented by noted historians that only staunch racist in abject denial try to argue in this day and age that Jesus was of European extract. I have only one word to say on that subject, get over it.

Jesus is arguably the single most influential human being ever to live, at least as far as this western civilization is concerned. His influence is vast and far-reaching and permeates throughout our society. We call Jesus’ name for everything. When we’re in excruciating pain we invoke the name of Jesus. When we’re at the very pinnacle of pleasure, again, we call on Jesus. In crisis, in fear, in jest we call Jesus. Jesus this, Jesus that. I believe his name has been called more than any other name in the last 200 years, at least in this western hemisphere.

The legacy and genius of Jesus, along with his identity, was stolen 325 years after he walked this earth. The Emperor Constantine initiated the theft in Nice, Italy at the Nicene council in the year 325 A.D. He and his learned scholars and fellow rogues concocted a scheme that would serve to demoralize and brainwash the entire civilized world for the next 1700 years. That scheme was simply to claim all responsibility for, and take ownership of, the personality of Jesus. These are the same Romans who murdered the man. They systematically destroyed all literature and artistic depictions of Jesus. They declared that Jesus was a Saint and that the Pope was his closest representative on earth. The irony in this is that Jesus adamantly opposed anyone worshiping him or anything other than Almighty God. He also vehemently denounced the priesthood declaring that human beings did not need other human beings to intercede between themselves and God. He declared the worship of idols and shrines as unholy and blasphemous. Yet, I challenge you to look around any Catholic Church and observe how many shrines and statues of Europeans are being genuflected to, and worshiped and how many priest are afforded the same.

Consider these documented facts. From the years 685-695 and then again from 705 through 711A.D. the Emperor of Rome was Justinian P. During his first 10 years of his rule he had a coin minted that depicted Jesus with straight hair and Euro-centric features in line with Constantine’s decree. He must have had an epiphany or his conscience ate at him because during his second reign he had the coin changed to depict the actual African image that he found consistent with the early Byzantine Church. This depiction denoted thick lips, wide nose and coarse, locked-hair which may account for the shortness of Justinian’s second reign.

The Roman Catholic Church undertook massive crusades to rid the world of any knowledge of this melanized Jesus. Torture with cruel methods of dismembering and decapitation were used to dissuade any who tried to preserve the true African/Hebrew identity of Jesus. As a matter of fact history records that the Christian Crusades was one of mankind’s cruelest, vile and most inhumane periods ever in the history of the world.

Another attempt at the theft of Jesus’ identity is the long debated Shroud of Turin. The shroud was supposedly the burial cloth that Jesus was laid to rest in. It was proven false through DNA testing and carbon dating which proved beyond doubt that the shroud (a cloth with an image of a straight haired, sharp featured European) did not exist during the fourth crusade in 1204 A.D., proof positive that it could not have been used to wrap the body of Jesus himself as it showed up more than 1200 years after his death. This is yet another ploy to perpetuate and authenticate the large white lie.

Artist’ renderings of a blond-haired-blue-eyed Jesus were distributed throughout the world by zealots and missionaries. Those missionaries did such a thorough job of brain washing on the continent of South America that almost every other male child born is named Jesus (pronounced Hay-Soos). This brainwashing was so exhaustive, so complete and permeating that people still believe to this day that the Pope is a holy figure that is closer to God than any other being on earth when in fact all of Jesus’ teachings emphatically state that anyone claiming to be closer to God than anyone else is a liar. His teachings propound that no person needs a middleman to God, we are, each one of us, our own priest.

Having grown up in the Roman Catholic Church, I experienced this brainwashing first hand. In every one of my family members’ homes, and indeed most of their friends’ homes, there were statues, figurines and pictures of this straight haired European who was supposed to be Jesus, the favorite usually being the one painted by Michael Angelo of Sistine Chapel fame. There are some who claim that the portrait is actually a painting of his sister. I don’t know about that but I do know that as a child I remember a lot of kneeling and genuflecting to these idols on a daily basis. I can recall never ever being comfortable in that environment, as if my soul new I did not belong. I also now reflect on the far-reaching psychological effects that behavior had on my self-esteem. Imaging having little to no contact with any Caucasian people in your everyday existence but having this figure placed high above you every where you go. Imagine believing your entire life that your Lord and Savior looked nothing like you but looked like your oppressor. How could I ever be like anyone I don’t resemble in the least? An image I distrusted and feared, that had kidnapped, murdered and enslaved my people. I would sincerely ask the reader to stop right now and imagine, no matter if you are black or white, that for the last 500 years Jesus had been depicted as Danny Glover or Isaac Hayes. Stop what you are doing, close your eyes and just think what a difference that would have made on this entire planet. It changes the game doesn’t it.

Conversely, I remember when I first found out that Jesus was of the true blood of ancient Africans. I remember how my heart soared and my level of esteem rose like a phoenix from ashes. I wrote a formal letter to the Catholic Archdiocese renouncing Catholicism and its sexually deviant methodology. To this day I am a much more confident and productive man with the knowledge that I can accomplish the same feats as Jesus. As soon as I realized that he looked like me, I no longer had the inclination to abuse my body through the use of alcohol, heroin, tobacco and other harmful drugs. It is amazing what heights one can scale if he or feels good about themselves. My morals and principles escalated because suddenly I had the most excellent role model. Suddenly Jesus did not appear to be the same man who harmed, enslaved and misused me, who raped and pillaged my people throughout our history. Instead I envisioned him as a true and divine prophet, the savior of humanity, my brother, my friend and connection to God. At the same time I discovered why the 18 most formative years of his life were systematically removed from the Bible.

Consider this. I have made inquiries and petitioned and I have even begged Priest, Nuns, Pastors, Deacons, Reverends and many astute scholars of all denominations of the Church to answer just one question.

What happened to Jesus after he turns twelve up until he turns thirty years old? Why is there no mention of him in the New Testament at all? Why are there eighteen consecutive years missing from his life’s work?

Now arguably we are discussing the single most important figure in western society. How could the years be missing in the first place and more importantly why are they not to be found in the Bible? President Richard Nixon had 18 minutes removed from his life and the country had a hissy fit. But we’re talking about eighteen years not eighteen minutes. If we remove eighteen years, especially those formative years, from anyone’s life we have a problem. But we’re talking about Jesus folks, the man upon whose shoulders the entire civilization rest according to the book. And guess what the most consistent answer has been to this question? The answer has been, it’s unimportant. The things Jesus did when he was 21 years old do not matter. What he went through at age 27 do not merit reflection. That’s right; they say almost to a person, that we have all the information we need about Jesus. God gave us just enough for us to get into heaven. And when you raise the subject about ethnicity the standard answer has been that this is not important either. They profess that it doesn’t make any difference what color he was because the only thing that is important is the message he left and the work that he did.

Well let’s examine these ideas for a second. If his ethnicity and color is so trivial and means so little in the overall scheme of things then why on earth would anyone go to such great lengths to change his identity? If his true identity and ethnicity is so unimportant then why was such painstaking effort taken to make him appear as a European when in fact he was African? Why would a man of African extract, who lived and worked and even sometimes hid among Africans and dark-skinned Indians, be always painted as a blond haired, blue eyed European? Why, why, why?

Let us then briefly examine what Jesus did during those so-called “unimportant” eighteen years. At twelve he left home (the Judean Hills, Africa) and traveled to India where he lived amongst the Sudra’s. The Sudra’s were considered and are still to this day treated as the lowest class of citizen in the country of India. These people ironically are the richest in pigment that India has to offer. Their skin is as dark as any on the continent of Africa. Not only did Jesus live and work among them, but he also hid among them on many occasions when his enemies were looking to harm him. There are numerous accounts of Jesus’ many years spent in India. There are stories of how Jesus stood in crowds while people inquired of him and the inquirer could not distinguish Jesus from any other Sudra. Like wise, there are numerous accounts of the many years Jesus spent in Egypt. As a matter of fact, as a sidebar, where in the world is the Middle-East and when did Egypt leave Africa and go to the Middle East? Except for a man-made canal, that whole area was, is and evermore shall be, Africa. Pardon the rant but some things are just plain ridiculous if you give them serious consideration. The people of India and Africa are dark complexioned, melanin-rich people and if Jesus could live, work and hide among them, then he certainly had to look like them. So again, why would any people go to such great lengths to change this obvious truth? Hair of lambs wool and feet of burnt brass are not European characteristics. Yet if these physical characteristics are not important, again I ask, why go through such changes and who would benefit from changing them?

There is something else that needs to be considered when we examine this curious historical twist. And that is the four Gospels that supposedly chronicle the last three years of Jesus’ life. The fact is the first book, which is Mathew, was written more than ninety years after his death. That’s right, I said ninety years! Think about that for a second folks. Now let’s just suppose I died in the year that I’m writing this, 2004. And suppose someone decided that I was worthy enough to write about in 2094, how accurate could their information be about the facts of my life, especially if my life were the stuff of legend as Jesus’ was. You can get misinformation one year after a person dies, to say the least about, ninety years. And they didn’t have the Internet and the benefit of mass media. They couldn’t go to Google or Yahoo and research the matter. The four gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John all were written almost a full century after Jesus walked the earth and yet we never even question that one salient point. This singularly significant issue accounts for the many discrepancies we find in the Bible and yet we have those who would sever my head as a heretic just for bringing up this truth. There are many variances and incongruities within the doctrine and yet we act as if they aren’t there. We go blindly believing. Plus, there are many other accounts of Jesus life written by people who walked and talked with him. The gospel of Barnabus is one, the Aquarian Gospel and the Essene Chronicles are other renditions of his entire time with us, not just three years. There are a myriad of books and I-witness accounts of Jesus but we just blindly accept the one. I wonder why that is and how that came to be?
I could go on and on talking about this subject because of the profundity of its nature. However I will not burden the reader any longer with my questions. I’ll just leave you with the poetic answer my soul gave me after no one else could. What happened to those: “18 Years”…
