marcus dixon u might remember from bryant gumbles real sports interview. the dude recently released from prison after serving time on a rape charge which he was found not guilty of is playing at hampton university. just saw this on the local news here in va beach, well see if he can make some noise. its good to see this cat free knowing there r many more dixons well never hear of....

Yes, I'm glad to see he's out. He was found guilty though, being overage and messing with a 15 year old, but his sentence was wayyyyyyyyy too harsh for consential sex. I don't like that law, its ridiculous. I'm still glad he's doing well, and I'm glad he didn't go to that racist Vanderbilt school, peaces

I posted on this a while ago in the open forum. I am also happy this brother was released, but this will still be on his record. The statutory rape laws need to be revised. No teenager should be sent to prison for consensual sex with another teenager!

You know CarrieMonet, I have a daughter, and I understand the value of laws like statutory rape. However I think the age limit should be raised to 21 years, as I feel a 18-20 year old is still a child. I work in a high school (teacher & case worker)....and there are 19-20 year olds still in school. Who are these kids going to date? Most people date within their social circle, and despite their age, the social circle of these guys are high school kids. With the Marcus Dixon case what we had was a Senior dating a Sophmore...that is pretty common. If all high school seniors who have sex with sophmores are sent to jail....half the men in this country would be locked up!! :maddd:
