My favorite sports I like to watch are:

1. Boxing
2. Basketball (NBA)

I enjoy football (NFL) the most. I wish the season was longer. Football is the one sport that seems unpredictable to me. The games are really never the same, I actually get excited when the games come on. Basketball bores me until the playoffs.

The sport I enjoy playing the most is Tennis and Golf.

No sport is more unpredictable than boxing; however, I wouldn't put no bets down on an NFL game either. You are right CarrieMonet!

Hmmm. Don't get me wrong I enjoy boxing but I no longer respect the venue. I used to watch boxing with my step dad religiously, never missed the fights. I remember being a huge fan of Sugar Ray Leonard and would watch all the old Ali fights (my step-dad's collection).

At any rate, that is when boxing seemed to be entertaining.

Now I feel like it's all fixed. I don't like fights that last less than two rounds unless somebody seriously came out throwing blows. The judges seem to pick fighters who didn't actually WIN...so lately the sport as a whole turns me off...and I turn the channel. And I won't even mention the many Tyson fights that pissed me off...

I would never support boxing by buying a fight...they will have to change the way it's judged first.

I do admit I like amatuer boxing much better.

I agree, especially the heavyweights. I would rather see smaller weight classes. Maybe middleweights or lightweights. Whichever weight has Casamayor and Coralles and Antonio Barrera. I'm not sure if they are in the same class or not. It seems the smaller guys are more evenly matched and the talent is more than the heavyweights. The heavyweights act like they just wanna dance for 12 rounds. I definately wouldn't buy a Tyson fight or any heavyweight bout nowadays. Maybe some of the other classes depending on who's fighting and what the undercard looks like.

Man, I get a good sleep when MLB is on. It's like taking a dose of Nightquil.

Baseball is not just about baseball, I think it's the atmosphere. That is why it's hard to watch it on television. But I have never been to a bad game when I actually go to the stadium. There is something about being there that makes it entertaining. What that is...I have no idea.

What I will NOT do ever again in life is purchase season tickets for the Sonics again. Matter-of-fact...I won't buy a single game ticket either unless the Kings are in town...and for all that I'd rather take a two hour drive down to Portland and see the Kings play the trailblazers.

Blazers are going to be good this year Carrie. They got one of my favorite centers, Theo Ratliff. He's a true center because no one comes inside the paint without having their heart stop first. The guy intimidates people because of his fantastic shot-blocking ability. He's not like Shaq, who only blocks shots because he pounds you with his body first. He just has a knack for making people eat the basketball when they bring it inside.

I'll keep that in mind, I'd much rather take a trip to watch the Blazers than to drive downtown and see the Sonics.

BUT I don't like the Blazer's stadium. Some seats are just plain terrible.

If you base boxing from the over-hyped, over-rated Tyson...I can see you being turned off. However being a boxing fan since the days of Sugar Ray Leonard to the present...I can tell you that there are plenty of great fights & fighters today. You don't have to pay to see boxing (I don't either...can't afford it), but HBO & Showtime has some great fights. This is especially true of the Welterweights-Lt. Heavyweight divisions. As far as short fights...what can I say, that is part of boxing!

I was referring to short fights that look like someone just took a flop - rather than being knocked out.

And I won't watch a Tyson fight...I stopped back when he started eating ears.

Besides drugging his water, I can't see anyway Oscar can beat Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins is the most complete boxer I've seen in some time...a good outside & inside fighter. Bernard can box when he needs to, or he can slug. In addition to this he doesn't tire, unlike De La Hoya, who always tires towards the end of fights. If Oscar couldn't beat Shane Mosley, I fail to see why he thinks he can handle the best middleweight since Marvin Hagler. I see De La Hoya being knocked out for the 1st time in his career!! :smash:

I'm hoping for a knockout myself because I dont want there to be any doubt or any chance for the de la hoya camp to come up with excuses..you're right de la hoya despite his conditioners best efforts just doesn't have the wind for fights that go past 7 or so rounds in all the tough fights he's had where he went to decision the last few rounds were spent basically running trying to get a little wind in so he could at least be busy for the last seconds of the round..the thing is like you said Bernard can box, he can stand toe to toe and brawl and he does not I repeat does not get tired..people don't realize that in Bernard Hopkins you're talking about a fighter that has not lost a fight since the early 90's ...and fights any and all comers...I saw de la hoya's tune up fight and he had to really put in work to beat that boy..I heard that Hopkins played with his tune up man putting him down in a couple rounds..man this is going to end de la hoya's career..to me one of the most over hyped fighters I've ever seen...can't wait to see The Excutioner standing over de la hoya while the golden boy takes a quick nap..lol....

To be exact Bernard hasn't lost since 1993 (when he lost his first title defense against Roy Jones Jr)...since then he has been untouchable. Even his loss to Roy (a split decision) was forgiveable.

About Oscar His tune up against Felix Strumm? He lost that fight, and was lucky to get the decision. In fact that fight was the final proof that De La Toya is overmatched. In the other corner Hopkins dismantled his opponent (Robert Allen) that same night...looking as strong as ever. I won't predict the round...but Hopkins is going to turn Oscar's lights out! :fight:

1. Basketball (any level...high school and college because they have true passion for it)
2. Football (I'm a die hard Bears fan for life, but I'll watch ANY NFL game and only some college football)
3. CUBS baseball...everything else is boring.
4. I'll watch Tennis, Golf, Soccer, Gymnastics, Track&Field, Volleyball, Dodgeball, and anything else...if it's a big game or event.

I love playing basketball, I used to like playing softball, and being around football is a passion too (I won't play it though)
