I see my people
I feel the pain that they bear
I am my people

I am forever
Bashed for my skin and culture
But I am still proud

deep struggle facing
da riff of life as people
yet proudly stronger

An eternity
That is how long I will fight
I will never stop

Tired as I may be
Am I my brother's keeper?
If I'm not, then who?

sometimes family,
tribes who sometimes disagree
yet strong trees are we

together forever
linked through blood and destiny
My people...I see

A clear connection
Sometimes indescribable
Clasp Nubian hands

over blue waters
packed tightly like can sardines
i see my people

No matter distance
No matter the time
We possess one time and space

Connected by Joy
Connected by pain
Connected by Life and Breath

You are my brother
You are my sister
My reflection, My Kindred

Let our spirits join
Rejoicing in each other
Sharing hopes and fears

buried deep the love
masked by fears,self hate,distrust
i see my people

I see my people
Bearing the weight of our race
Struggle continues

fish fry smelling good
dancing to the blue light sounds
my people I see

within the brown earth
eyes of fear tremble over
still planting the seeds
