View Full Version : Health / Beauty : I do not want a beard.

Do I need to say MORE?

One of my co-workers is really hairy.

One day I noticed the young lady had hair on her chest and chin. One day she asked another co-worker to pluck the hairs on her neck for her. CAN YOU SAY ODD?? *frowning* That is strange and I would feel awkward asking someone to do that. Well, unless they worked in a laser clinic for hair removal.

What makes a woman grow a beard or chest hairs?

Someone please tell me. That is not something I want to happen to me EVER!

Can we all join hands and pray now?

That's not HOT. :nono: I guess one way would be to get it permanently removed. I have't seen many women like that but I'm sure there are alot. Women with hairy arms too.

I see this a lot and when I do see it, it's mostly a woman who is...I want to say overweight. Chest,Chin or mustache hair. I was told once that some kinds of birth control do this to some women. Because they have some of the male hormones in them and these hormones manifest this way...beards etc. Forgive me for being talkative but, have you ever seen a guy that looked like a girl or like he should have been a girl? Then there are women who look like men...have features that men have? (you be asking yourself or people, "Is that a man or woman? or boy or girl?) I think it's a "gene" thing myself. A trait that hopped onto the DNA strand and it wasn't supposed too. That sounds crazy don't it?

Hmmm, but this girl is not overweight.

I haven't taken birth control in over 9 years...maybe that is why I'm spared the extra hair?? I mean I've seen OLDER women with hair on their chin...and I figured it was just something that happens when you get old, but this young lady is just that - YOUNG. It looks odd.

Yeah, it is odd. I surely didn't experience anything like that while on BCP's years ago. But I used to hear that all the time....birth control pills. Not to sound selfish but I guess we can knock on wood...so far? I'm gonna check this thread everynow and then to see if anyone else might have an idea why some women grow beards. Just to think, being women we already have to anticipate things like PMS, "The Change" what ever that really is and all the other stuff? But some of us waking up mornings to SHAVE or PLUCK? That's some scary stuff right there. I wouldn't know how to explain something like that to my young sons!

Birth control such as depo provera increases growth of facial/body hair. Hormonal imbalance could be a factor as well..maybe more testosterone in your blood or something...

Testosterone makes people grow more bodily hair. But certain medicines also cause women to grow facial hair by upsetting the hormonal balance.

I know Procrit does, because it gave my aunt a face full of hair.

Yeah, I've seen women like this. Regardless of the reason for the facial hair, why don't they just shave it?
