My exhusband proposed to me in a movie theater, eating some popcorn. It was before the movie started, during a discussion we were having. We had met only about 2 months prior, and I was also beginning to go to church on a regular. We were intimate twice, and then I made the decision that I couldn't sleep with him anymore because I wanted to "walk right." We decided to be friends, after a week long back and forth discussion.

That brother said, "You should marry me. I love you, you love me, let's get married." Not the proposal I had dreamed of. I was 19, he was 26. I thought he was joking. I told him if he were serious, that he needed to go to my house and ask my father. We sat in the car and cried together and talked, and he went in there and asked my dad.

Does that mean I have skills??????? :smash:

Why is the proposal so important? I mean, does it have to be a presentation? Can it be simple? What kind of proposal do women look for?

I think some people find it important because it's a moment in time you won't forget....so some men/women try to make it a special moment.

I don't know if it would work for me or not. Surprises can be scary sometimes. Plus marriage sort of scares me so a man should know in advance that I'd say yes before he asks me.
