This community is a dream come true for me. From the moment i stumbled onto the Internet, i saw the potential for us having our own community. A place for us, by us, and about us ... positive, uplifting, peaceful, and relaxed. A refuge from the assaults we face daily, a place where we get to simply be ourselves.

So for me, it is a dream come true.

what this community means to me is beyond words
nothing can compare to all i have learned here and how i love
destee.com and most def a wonder land where i can come and
release daily enjoy friends and feel free from stress write and
comfort others as well this community is the best place i've ever
walked into and now only death do us part ! i am a life time member
and wouldn't trade destee.com for nothing or no other place
it means where i can come and share laughter / sorrow / pain / heal
it opens up so many different avenues for me and i love to gether with
my people open minded and in this community you fine this and how others
care this place means so much i can't even really tell you all because it will
take me a years to express it all but one thing i'll do nothing to hurt it and
will do all i can to protect it at all cost i love this community can't you tell!!!

Where I see a slight difference is it's " a place where we get to simply be ourselves."

We know some come in rough from places across the United States.

But thats the family of America. Even a ruff neck fellow likes to hug someone and be hugged. Wants accolades from those they communicate with and hang out with.

Many come, and find they need to change. ( just enough to drop the mask. ) What they quickly realize is that this is a place to grow, be creative and contribute to something bigger and more than themselves. Change is good. Just enough to get along, promote harmony, and curb all rough edges.

This community promotes positive forward thinking, if you want to be a part of it's existance. YOU MUST FIND WITHIN YOURSELF A BALANCE FROM TRADITIONAL THINKING. Traditional thinking is going with the crowd, cooperating just to fit in, and often playing others down to lift yourself up.

Well I'll tell you it's not tolerated here. :nono: Everyone on the web has been in a chat room and know you have to get along, to get it on. Unlike a chat room this place is expanded into more than that. Yes we have chat, and that too is a wonderful place to spend your days or nights.

This is a place for me where during the day if I get a thought and become overwhelm with an emotion. I can flow in here, jot that down, read some of the other wonderful folws posted here and comment.

I know DESTEE is here for me to release that idea and thought a story or news. It's a wonderful thing. If you spend a half hour here, even less if your eyes wide open, you will know within minutes. THIS PLACE ROCKS! have fun Family.

It's hard being positive, experts have proven being negative is simplier, and more acepatable in this present day world. You recieve praise quicker, and from many faster. But we know that is false LOVE and ADMIRATION. :smokin:

But seems like I been here forever!!! Since day one… Shoot And aint been here a full year yet and aint leaving!!!! :wink:

I can’t say its beyond words, what destee.com means to me. The love and just the sharing alone, is a lot. Destee.com opens up so many levels of thinking, creativity, and growth for our people. To learn share and just be you.

encouragement, support, respect, with the love up in here is outstanding!!!! And I am glad I can witness it and speak on it first hand.

When my uncle pass says enough bout the wonderful ppl here. I don’t know what I would of done, with out my Destee family Triniti, Destee, Rich, Khasm, Money, and Python support with NNQUEEN guidance thank you. If I have not said this..And if I had oh well thank you again..:)..without yall i would be further half pass crazy now...:lol:

So for me its more then just a community..its my destee family!!!!!

This word summarizes very well what this community is for me!With all of u,i've found a new family!When bitterness comes and no one have the time for me,i know that i just have to come...and to open my heart!Here i have found buddies,friends,brothers n sisters n now...a girl that i'm luvin'!
If i can say one thing concerning my feelings here,i can stay "start from scratch,new oxygen,new world full of luv n hope conserning the future".

I feel the same way. I see this as a safe haven I can grow and mature. I have learned so much in here. My writing has definitly matured and as a person I find my self being at peace here. I know that I will always have open arms full of love, stern teachers when I need them, and support in my growth. Now only if this could be my house.

When I said house I mean the place I sleep at night. When ever I go to the place I sleep (that's hardly ever) I feel like I have to do battle. There is always something. Here there may be a few glitches but they don't bother me, nag me, do or say stupid stuff for no reason. It's home. Where I sleep is just a house.

I just wanted to thank you Destee because you have welcomed me with open arms and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS showed luv for anything that i posted. To a poet who has had some experinces....that means the world to me. As this site means the world to you, I believe it means the world to us. One word: HOME.

This is a place I can come to check out some interesting threads/conversations and participate in some of them. I can share my knowledge and sometimes help others.

There are a handfull of freindly people out here like Toylin and Destee and some others.

it's a place where I feel at home...where I can be me unadulterated...and where I can learn about a myriad of things from people who I share a past, a present, and a future with as well as a culture, a history. :D

Truthfully..
this family is like a tribe.. you got your spiritual advisor (Pan), the jokers (James, and greggy).. the brothers (rich, godsouljah,1poetsought) .. a whole mess of sisters.. the all around wacky and inspirational.. my sisters Trinity, and nisa and momma.. the one looking at all of us from her home Destee.. im just naming a few.. but yall all know where yall fall in those categories the wise men, and the voodoo priestesses.. lol.. are somewhere in there too.. lol.. but i love yall all.. you all provide such a devin service for the soul.

In light of recent forum events, I think folk really need to re-evaluate this question. Personally, this community really means a lot to me; if it didn't I wouldn't be a paying member. How about it bruthas & sistahs ....what DOES this community and the peace therein REALLY mean to YOU ??? What are you willing to do or discontinue doing in order to keep this a happy home for everyone ??? Is your ego or need to ALWAYS be right worth more to you than the peace and harmony of this beautifilled community ???

I agree sister Akilah, your bringing this up is quite timely. I have always been a supporter of this community. I was one of the original members, who thought quite highly of it in the beginning. Overtime my attachment to this community has grown. There have been many who feel the same, and added to what makes this place special. Unfortunately there have been some who try to tear down what we have. We have survived attempts to do this in the past, and will continue to do so.

I totally agree with brother Panafrica , this has been a love of mines from start
and i too have become more deeper with this community , from past pain we
have always weather the storms and we shall continue , it's not the community
but what's inside the community that makes the differents this the place to be
and we all know it just don't show it because what i feel is self hate or a agent
of none supporter and destroyer , we shall rise higher as we always do ..........

PEACE is something we haven't adapt to well because how divided we are
many feel right on issues yet won't allow the next statement to hold any truth
working together is the key to unify structure so whatever it takes i shall do
to bring this to a united bond as black people in a community without debate.

DESTEE.COM is a Dream come true for me and i treasure it to the fullest.

to me, it means encountering Africans with which i have finally found some small bit of commonality:
computer usage in a social setting, rather than just business settings.

to me, it means a smile when i have sent off my $20 each month along with the rest of my bills.
