Today is the first day,
a day meant just for me.
I woke up and asked,
what will I truely be ?
Will I be free in spirit,
in mind, body and soul...
or will I surrender my life,
unto others to control ?

Well we can forget that one,
and I know that all can see...
to give it up and all away,
for me could never be !
Maybe I'll sip in the air,
as my breast start to rise,
from the joy and the glow
that shines so deep inside.
Maybe I'll sit down and think
about this great big old world,
and remember how it was,
when I used to be a girl.

I laugh when I do that...
to think I was really nieve.
Filled with fake joy and laughter,
not knowing I was deceived.
They say ignorance is bliss,
and I guess that it's true...
for lies make you smile,
while the truth makes you blue.
But you know that depends
on how you take it inside...
for it can eat you on up,
or you can take it in stride.

The choice is really yours,
and it's yours all alone...
be the master of your life,
and the ruler of your throne.
So today is the first day,
but tomorrow will be too...
and what it becomes,
will be left up to you.
I'm just a Prophetess,
keeping it all on track...
while thanking our Creator,
that I was born Black !
