Is it true that MIKE TYSON is trying to make a comeback
as a heavyweight, and set to fight July 30th 2004 a British
Heavyweight of Dubious Name DANNY WILLIAMS and many
saying MIKE TYSON can be a factor at his age 38 in the today's
fractured heavyweight ranks.

what are your thoughts and imput to mike's comeback and can he
be any impat in the rankings or is his time up at 38 years old?????

:eeek:

I think he has power but won't be strong enough to stand toe to toe
round for round with anybody and surely at 38 he will have it hard
even with the heavyweight ranks skimpy !

Yes it is true that Mike Tyson is fighting Danny WIlliams on the 30th of July (pay-per-view). Although I have never seen Williams fight (European fighters are rarely shown on TV, unless they come to America), I have heard that he is a decent fighter. This is the biggest fight of Williams career, and it should be a good test for Iron Mike. At this stage of his career, Mike is not going to gain anything by fighting nobodies.

Believe it or not Rich, I actually do think that Mike can be a player in today's heavyweight division, because of the lack of true competition. Lennox Lewis' retirement was a blessing for Mike Tyson. When the 4 heavyweight champions are: Vitali Klitschko (WBC), Chris Byrd (IBF), John Ruiz (WBA), and Lamon Brewster (WBO), Tyson's chances of winning a belt are very good, particularly against Ruiz and Brewster. Klitschko and Byrd might give Tyson a hard time because of the height and boxing skills respectively. Knowing this (I believe Mike is fully aware of his limitations), Mike will undoubtedly go after the two he can beat. Power + experience can take you a long way in boxing, and Tyson definately has some big fights still in him. Whether or not he capatilizes on this is up to him.

i say he can, however with tyson i am worried not of his stamina or power, not even his age. its his skillz , his technique, he always seemed to reliant on his knoxk out blows which he hadevery right to be. but it seeme he bever mastered his technical game, if he can do this he might be a factor even at 38.

I don't know. The only thing he has going for him is the fact that the Heavyweight division sucks right now. I think he can be a factor, but his head might still be missing some screws. He's his own worse enemy. I think that his skills have diminished. All he ever goes for are the knockout punches and everyone knows it's coming. He doesn't bob and weave like he used to, and hasn't for a long time. I don't know if any of those current champs can beat him...but that's not really saying anything. Hey, he doesn't have anything to lose. He's already the joke of the boxing world anyways. What can one more disappointment do to him.

Hey, is George Foreman planning a comeback too. Please say it isn't so.

Tyson has been his worse down fall but if he stay focus he might
wallop a power punch for the KO... No way i don't think G.Foreman
trying to do that at all .

I mean really do anyone think he could even have a chance in the ring
even with such a weak division of fighters today ! my heart say he would
be punched out big George can't do it ......i need to be proven wrong .

George wouldn't be coming back to try and win the title...he just would like to fight 1 more time.

In a recent interview on Fightnews.com, Mike intends to fight Vitali Klitschko on his 3rd comeback fight (which should be in about 1 year). If he does, it will be the first time in about 10 years, that I will cheer for Tyson to win a major fight.

For those who have $45 to spend (or a black box/chip) the Tyson fight is tomorrow. Unfortunately I have neither, so I'll be watching the replay next week.

i will be watching the fight replay also, however you can probably download the fight free on kazaa, morpheus, or any other file share site by tomorrow night!

I'm as big of a boxing fan as they come. However Showtime must be out of their minds to think that people are going to pay $45 to see Tyson fight an opponent who is neither a title holder nor a top contender (especially a 38 year old Tyson who hasn't held a belt in 8 years). This is a disrespect to boxing fans, I'll watch ESPN Friday Night Fights instead.

i still think tyson might have one big win left in him.
