someone stole my soul and
replaced it with apathy
so much I can't believe
runs through my veins
like poison and the
only thing I can breathe is
this gas called loneliness
I am asphyxiated
the sky is so gray and
that is helping to smother me but
I can't tell anymore whether
the physical symptoms came first
or what, because
it sneaks up on you and
you don't realize you're
standing in quicksand until
it's up to your neck,
and by that time you don't
care about ****
or you don't have enough
hope left to try
phantom physical pains
and forgetfulness
this mask I wear is
so shiny and I hope to god
the cracks don't show
I am the
ghost of who I am
and I don't know how
to find my way home

My sister and my brother, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your words of encouragement and your love. Can't tell ya how much that means to me. I have been in a tough place lately, but it's things like this that help keep me going. Thank you, and much love to you.

"Home"...is where the heart is. It's a known fact that ..."misery loves company". Seek first the knower of self, and build from that...one step at a time. Also learn the Worth of your inner Spirit for it never leaves you, whatever you want...your spirit will provide.
And then you always have us, to share anything that needs to be disposed of.
you have my/our love and support...always

The flow itself is so emotively written, it's like we're walking through depressions doors. But, gempis, just hold on. Hold on to your faith, hold on to yourself, and hold on to hope. I hope this day was better than the one before. When one minute is too much, just make it through one second. Hugs to you.

mzblk :grouphug: thank you, sis.

queen, those are some very wise and encouraging words. Not to mention supportive. I truly and completely appreciate that, sis. :grouphug: Thank you so much.

watz, I love you for that message of faith and hope and one minute at a time. Thank you, thank you. :grouphug:

Prophetic, thanks for that. :star:

I feel very lucky to be a part of this family. Wind beneath my wings at times like these.

Sister, I feel this so deeply...because I experience this so often, it's as if
I'm reading about me...becoming one with your words.../ but the fact
that we can put the mask on...is an indication of strength and perseverance...
Eventually...the mask will crack, and I hope it does...because I know, it's at
that time...the the real me...the healed me...the new "you"...will shine through...
Masks are good for a while...until the transparency of the ghost is no longer...
and the Real You...is re-discovered...having evolved into a much stronger being.

Excellent peace Gempis...
I loved it!

Thank you for understanding, sister. You always do. And thanks for the words - they mean a lot. You are right, too: the mask serves its purpose, until it's time to come clean. Love you, girl. :grouphug:

Gempis, this is one of the most powerful poems I've ever read...sincerely.
I am a stress management therapist by profession and I deal with a lot of depressed folk. Check out www.slamyourstress.com

I am in awe of this piece...wonderfully written...
