View Full Version : Poetry : I Wanna

I wanna be a woman
Who can control her life
I wanna be a mother
who doesn't let impatience
bring lasting strife

I wanna be a sister
Who somehow comprehends
her sister's tortured mind
does have a beginning and an end

I wanna be a daughter
Who does the best she can
To please my mom and dad
and make them understand

I wanna be a lover
Who can please and tease her man
When every romantic gesture
Takes careful, tedious plan

I wanna be a grilfriend (there is a difference)
Who nutures, cares, and loves
Whose there for her sweetheart
Who support helps him reach
His stars above

I wanna be a writer
Who nerver loses creativity
whose every expressive thought
flows free and generously

I wanna be a queen
whose confidence is never shaken
whose stance won't be mistaken
whose happiness can't be taken

I wanna have the sense
to make sensible choices
to teach my daughter
that only the strong ones
have the loudest voices

I wanna be needed
I wanna be sought
I wanna know that all of my precious treasures
can never be brought

I wanna stare at the day's end
And finally feel like I'm home
But most of all, I think
I wanna end this poem.

the sky is the limit
and the biggest obstacle
any person can ever have
is right between their ears...

you can be and accomplish anything you want
it's just mind over matter...

Very inspirational flow!
Thanks for sharing!

There are many, including myself, who want those same things in life, never know what treasures life will bring. And I love the way you ended this piece. :)

Like the others, I loved the way you ended this poem, but I also loved the way you took us through your wants, because they are so similar if not the same, as our own. Great flow
