View Full Version : Haiku : Cassandra Complex 2

Prophesies spoken
Mad man or cursed prophet?
Will they ever hear?
I lament daily,
Able to prophesy
but no one believes
foolish, foolish mortals!
When will they ever learn.

**These ideas are take from the greek mythological story of Cassandra, a Princess of Troy who was blessed with the gift of Prophesy and of seeing the past, present, and future. However this gift was laced with a curse; when she spurned the advances of apollo, he cursed her with being able to speak forth prophesies but not one individual would ever believe her. Interesting huhn?

Rock and a hard place
Just caught betwixt and between
A prophet's hands, tied

Am I truly mad?
Or is it something else?
My hands are really tied tight.
I stand with a heavy heart.
Release must come soon.

Living with the curse
Much wisdom given in vain
Evolved spirit screams

Evolved screams fly around
Wisdom has no use,
I am accursed and abused
The cursed prophet today
Not one heeds the words
Lonely in the rain.

Can one so cursed live?
Summon a higher power
The answer lies there

I reach for that high
Floating on cloud ninety-nine
My feet still on ground
Haven't moved a bit
So what can I truly do?
My words still fall on deaf ears.
Heartache of the year.
