In the middle
of your lake,
I chill and
eventually freeze.
Flirting with you is
something that can't lead to
anything good.
I'm skating on thin ice.
In the moonlight
of my creeping
I nearly fall in;
the artic breeze
calms the embers of my
inner flames and I almost
become cold and
lifeless dealing with your
frozen winds.
I'm skating on real thin ice
and I don't think the outer me
knows the real danger of
getting caught up with something
unusual and out of synch.
Still, will I swim or sink?
Are you something I need or just
a worthless link?
The question's spring up like
a black forest,
and I can't see the clearing.
If the tree falls and i'm not around,
will it make a sound?
Will it even hit the ground?
If I'm lost in her then how can I be found?
Sure i'm filled with a thrill, skating on thin ice,
Or is my fate sealed with a flip of the dice?
I skate and the crack threatens to become wider,
Still I skate and flip as the daystar grows lighter.
Eventually I've got to stop playing this vice,
and discontinue skating on her thin ice.
